PayPal bank info accessible buy eBay?
 

I was looking through the forum and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for. I am wondering can eBay see the bank information on a PayPal account of your only using the bank to withdraw funds from PayPal?

They owned by the same company, and most probably they share the same information. Most likely they can see the attached bank?

I would suspect they could based on the nature of the business between them in spite of being separate companies...

About 4 years ago I was on the phone to eBay regarding a payments issue. Whilst he was on the phone he checked his system and he could not see any issues. He then said 'give me a minute whilst I login to the PayPal system'....

Sorry, I assumed he'd work it out with just that info. The rest of the info is just a story really.

I'll finish it off for you. He confirmed the PayPal account was verified with my HSBC bank account, although he didn't mention the sort code or account number but I'm guessing he could see it, and that there were no issues with the account. I said ok and left it to see if the issue would resolve itself.

12 hours later I was limited by PayPal. Just to clarify, as I feel I need to, the bank account had nothing to do with the limitation.

Could be that I had a limitation in waiting or it was flagged for review so I couldn't take payments.
