How long should I wait before listing first item?
 

I'm going to start off selling $20 dollar low-risk items.

My question is; After creating an eBay account, do I wait 3 days, one week, two weeks before putting up my first listing?

EDIT: Here is my plan:

Wait one week and during that week browse the listings, buy a cheap item, ask questions,etc

First month - Sell $20 dollar low-risk items
Second month - Sell $60-$70 dollar low-risk items
Third month - Sell $120-$150 dollar low-risk items

After that I can sell my $1,500-$3,000 dollar low-risk items.

Do you think this is a good plan?

It is best to wait around 30 days before listing. You can do it sooner but it is more risk

That's not exactly low risk, regardless of what the product is. Generally speaking by low risk we mean something like a second hand book.

Some people list immediately, others wait a month or more

A second hand book? I'm trying to run a ****ing business. The items I really sell are worth $1,500-$3,000. I'm only selling cheap pool cleaners to age my eBay account.

Okay one week sounds acceptable. What price are your items, under $100?

You ran a business already and you failed, presumably that's why you are now going stealth. Sometimes you need to go backwards to go forwards

I list an item within 2 minutes of opening any account and never had a problem

I haven't failed. I run a business that currently doesn't have a online presence. I'm not going stealth. I've never owned a eBay seller account. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to go about this, and I know it will take at least 3 months.

Whether a person has a real eBay seller account or a stealth account, both face some similar hurdles....like aging the account.

What type of product and price, may I ask?

I got buyer restriction for opening an account and trying to buy an a $30 dollar item on the same day. It restricted me when I went to checkout.

Normally a second hand movie around a fiver just to get the account up and running
