Item Not Received and item not received disputes

this item was sold over a month before that account got suspended.

couple of days ago i get a nasty email from the buyer saying they were not satisfied with the item. my policy is it's been over 30 days so he's screwed.
of course since the account is suspended i can't just log into ebay and settle it with the tracking number. or even respond to his email. he's sending them through ebay.

strange thing is he is not going through paypal to do this. i guess he tried and they let him know that it has been more than 30 days. as far as i know they will not do a charge back after 30 days. is that true?

should i even be worried about this? tracking number shows item delivered to the confirmed address. what can ebay do? 30 days is 30 days right?

Chris Hanson 09-24-2007 09:30 PM

You can go to a library and log into your suspended accounts. I do that sometimes.

But some buyers when they see you are suspended they will do a dispute with Ebay. Its a common scam or not scam but like a scam. Since you are suspended they think you will not respond to the dispute and they get free money from Ebay and paypal

spike1 09-24-2007 09:50 PM

but since it's been over 30 days they can't get it right?

jm3262 09-24-2007 10:10 PM

Hi- IN my experience, paypal gives them 45 days. Which is why i cannot understand why they make us post a refund policy anyhow? if we say 3 days, 7 days, 30 days, it doesnt matter- its 45 days..
Regards

Chris Hanson 09-25-2007 12:15 AM

yep Paypal is 45 days... and Ebay is 60 days and the buyer credit card bank...up to 6 months.

spike1 09-25-2007 08:42 AM

"only where it matters"

that is what i was thinking modee. that account is already gone, what does it matter? i don't understand why they are going through ebay and not paypal. if they had done the item not received through paypal they would have a good chance of getting their money back, but through ebay, what can they do?

Chris Hanson 09-25-2007 10:49 AM

Thats why they are going through Ebay because they know you will not respond since your account is banned and Ebay will give them a refund.. I noticed its a little scam on the buyers behalf thats been going on.

I caught someone trying to do that to me, i then went to the library and logged into my account and responded and noted the item was delivered with DC. The lady closed the dispute ASAP! Slick beetch

spike1 09-26-2007 08:39 AM

wonder if i should cancel the credit card that i was using on that ebay id?

Item Not Received

I sent someone their item via Fedx and forgot to require a signature and now the person has filled out an "Item not Received" form against me and Im not planing on paying no $600 for an item the buyer received.

What should I do?

mantisinc 06-29-2008 12:50 PM

Unless you have sent the item signed for/tracked, there is no proof that you've sent the item.

John14789 06-29-2008 04:09 PM

Fedex always provides a tracking number when shipping out packages so just provide the tracking number to whoever your payment proccessor is.

Jonas 06-29-2008 06:30 PM

No signature but still a tracking means you win the paypal dispute and then they file chargeback and win the chargeback.

ebayhateluv 06-29-2008 08:04 PM

Why not file a Decline of Delivery/ Non -Receipt with fedex--make them PROVE who they delivered it to--
I know with UPS--they send the same driver out--he gets them to admit they recd it--Possibly the same with FEDEX?? They dont want to take losses--they will eventually mark his/her address as a possible fraud address--and ALWAYS require a signature in the future..

Item Not Received

Say if you bought an item but you didnt get it, is there anything you can do?, Is there a way to track the seller or have PP or ebay track them for you?

thelizardking 07-01-2008 01:44 PM

Im assuming you used Paypal to pay?...If so Paypal can track it if they used Paypal to print the label, otherwise the seller has to provide it...you can open a Item Not Received dispute after 7 days and unless they can prove that it was delivered to you, you will win the dispute and get a refund...

But being as seller myself I would suggest contacting the seller first thru ebay (if you haven't already) and if they avoid you or have been avoiding you I would open a dispute with Paypal...

How long has it been??

thakid212 07-01-2008 04:52 PM

It has been a month and no reply from the seller..I have opened a dispute..

Is there anything else I can do?

Is there any legal action I can take?

TMiles 07-01-2008 05:02 PM

Legal action. How much was the item worth? It will cost you close to $100 to file a claim in court for which you will never see your money....

File the dispute and be done with it. You will get your money back.....
However, first try to contact the seller, MORE than once. Just sending on message to the seller in not sufficient. Emails get lost all the time.....

ebay-sucks 07-01-2008 09:02 PM

If you did not buy delivery confirmation and you did not purchase insurance or the seller did not use pp shipping or other methods you are SOL.

Sure I want you to get what you paid for but buyers need to be alittle more creative themselves, always buy delivery confirmation and if the seller doesnt offer it ask for it or dont buy.

Call them on the phone if they do not respond.

But legal action, it will cost more at least a 500 retainer to get started.

Sure there are bad sellers, but there as just as many if not more bad buyers and sellers have to protect themselves allot more then in the past.

I REQUIRE buyers to pay for delivery confirmation, if you dont buy it you dont buy my items.

Protect yourself, delivery confirmation is cheap.

Hope you get this resolved, but keep finding ways to contact the seller. Something could be wrong.

thakid212 07-01-2008 10:10 PM

Could there be way to track my money after I send it?

Sorry if this is a stupid guestion just want to know

GreenBean 07-01-2008 10:29 PM

Any money can be tracked unless you are laundering money. The question is a bit strange.

If paypal was used, check with them. If a credit card, go to them and check. Then file a paypal dispute or CC chargeback.

thakid212 07-02-2008 05:05 PM

Is there anyway to track the person over the internet?

TMiles 07-02-2008 06:16 PM

I think this thread needs to be closed. The person who started it is either playing with us or not reading the posts.

All the comments do not make much sense....Something is very odd about this story

Item not received disputes?

What do you guys do when a buyer files a INR? Should i just escalate to a claim myself? Some probably read my problem when a buyer escalated a claim and i got hit with a refund and no item back. But i want to know if you have delivery confirmation or signature confirmation that shows it was delivered, did you have any success with winning the claim? I wonder if it mater if the seller initiates the claim first then they will side with the person who initiates it. Trying to get a gameplan ready for the next buyer who thinks he or she can pull a fast one on me again.
