Managed payments will be mandatory for my account soon!!
 

I received an e-mail today from eBay saying managed payments will be mandatory for me soon otherwise I won't be able to list new items!!


I am worried this will affect my sales negatively, what do you think? Anyone here registered for managed payments without sales getting hurt?


I know PayPal is now implemented, but I am skeptical because glitches :-/

unlike Paypal where you see the sales amount in your account immediately,MP will deposit the amount in 1-2 ?? days to your bank account,it is up to you when you should ship the item.

Actually it culd be 3-4 business days with Ebay, they wont be as reliable with those direct deposits as Etsy are

Why not.. if it's the same company sending the deposits?

I haven't had any issues with delayed deposits.

Is there no hold period at all (like PayPal's 21 day hold), other than the time it takes eBay to deposit the money in your account?

I just checked my eBay. The payments I received on the 8th were sent by managed payments to my bank account yesterday morning.

I can't say if there are any other types of hold when/if your account is brand new since my account was already years old when I switched to MP.

They don't seem to do much holding. If you get a return or a request, they will hold that amount of money out of your current payments received from the day by deducting it from your payout. If the case or return is resolved in the sellers favor, then they include that amount in a future payout.

What about fees? Is it really cheaper than PayPal?

EDIT 3 : Payment amount : $11.39, fee amount : $.31. 2.7% fee
Payment amount : $11.90, fee amount : $.32. 2.7% fee

Fee is 2.7%. So I guess there's a tiny savings compared to PP.

if it is acting like a merchant account provider,it could withdraw $$ from your bank account if you lose a chargeback.
say you have not sold much,so there is nothing or not enough to withhold

Sunday till Tuesday? Is it normally 2 days, or sometimes 1? I have to admit, I will definitely miss instantly having my money available to me whenever I switch over.

Do you often list new listings? Wonder how long they would let us continue bumping up the quantity of existing listings and not adding anything new?

Not in my experience.

They'll just deduct the amount from a future payout if you have issues with an international order, or any other order. It really works exactly like a traditional merchant account. You never have a "balance." eBay is just taking in payments on your behalf and then forwarding them to you.

your buyers wont even know,if they like Paypal,they can continue using paypal via MP.
It is the sellers,some love it,and some hate it.
