ebay stealth account got suspended
 

created a stealth ebay account, waited 3 weeks, listed 1 dvd and got the message

After reviewing your eBay account, recent activity has raised serious security concerns. As a result, we've taken the following action on your account:
- Your eBay account has been suspended indefinitely.
- Item listings have been removed. A list of removed items is available further down in this email.

You won't be able to use eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account. Any outstanding selling fees are due immediately, and any amounts that you haven't previously disputed will be charged to the billing method currently on file.

I think selling a human friend is the highest risk.

I don't think you should joke about that type of stuff...

I dont think dvd is high risk,we all have dvds we want to rid of.
comics are considered high risk with Paypal.
list a book then.
Me think it has nothing to do with the listing,Ebay just found out it is a stealth account,did you make one yourself?

OP may not be able to answer some of the questions Ebay rep would ask her,since she has a stealth account.
It is not what she listed,it is how she created her stealth account

all you need is one picture for selling dvd,some reps just dont know what they are talking about.
Ebay is picking on you since it is a new account.

it has nothing to do with what you list-dvd,book,t shirt,they just want you to call them so they know there is a human behind the listing,they capture your phone number,your voice and whatever you told them.
Unless you burst onto the scene listing many Krugerands,gold bar,buillions,smart phones,then they want to see your supplier invoice.

call in and talk with a representative. Sometimes i get my account reinstated depends on who you get on the call

Agree with SaiJin here - listing a human isnt a good idea :ranger:

I would stick to totally generic second hand items

I called up and the reason my account was suspended was because i didnt have enough photos up to make the item look genuine and trusting (dvd) and they wanted me to link paypal to ebay account but apart from that they lifted the suspension

Dvds are usually not a good first item, a used household item is good.

that's bull****. they do not know why it was supsended because the system suspended the account.

most of the new UK accs get suspended because they do a creditcheck and find out the person does not exist. that's also the reason for the little limits. DVD is a good item to start. I always start with DVDs or Books and out of 50 accounts which i created in the past 3 month only 4 got suspended (on the first item).

The paypal link is also bull****. i never link paypal or create it. I always use the same adress on my first listing even if paypal does not exist.

Also bad news: Your account will be suspended tomorrow again. they restore it and suspend it again on the next day or the day after. If you get the first-item-suspension the account is toast

i assume representive detect your ebay and paypal not linked when listing an item. Is that possible to listing without ebay and paypal linked? Need an info, thanks.

Had this happen to me. In no way did I list a high risk item - a new book. Took a handful of pictures with my eBay user name on card stock in the images too!

I even bought 3 decently priced items, had them delivered, got and gave feedback on the account before listing the item - still suspended.

I was so paranoid about getting it done right. I promise, I followed the stealth book to a T.

Since I can't call in at the moment, can't verify if it was suspended due to stealth detection, or simply their new first listing suspension policy.

We'll just have to wait and see...

There's a flaw when making your account.
One of the factors is your listed item.
You can try listing used item, or put them in auction, like used books, used rugs, etc.
And how did you create your account by the way?
What IP Address did you use for your first listing.

If it is me, the first product, I will list used clothes, such as T-shirts, pants, etc.
Take a picture yourself, you just need to make sure the picture looks real enough, not the one downloaded from Google.
