Ebay asking to call mention security code 87236428012 when trying to list item
 

I have a ebay account i have not listed on in 2 years when i went to list an item, they wanted me to verify the phone number, that i know longer have so i used a number from text now and when i try to list i get this message.

call us at 1-866-540-3229 and mention security code 87236428012. this is not the same confirmation code to confirm your account. if you use an ip relay service, you can use the same number.

Has anybody had this happen and if so what is the solution?

Seen it before.
Not much to do about it other than call in.
And using a burner app phone number is not the way to go about it... those are known to bring about a suspension (at least in new accounts).

have you not opened it for a long time?
They just wanted to confirm it's YOU who is using that account.

That's normal. They may have thought that the account has been compromised.

You will have to call them and settle this up. Looks like you are locked. Also, sharing this type of information on this forum is not a good idea considering the fact that it's not ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info. or maybe, it is?
