As the title states

Has anyone successfully converted a stealth account into a genuine account overtime and run it as a proper business ?

Curious in finding out ?

I think, this is not goal of stealth.

A stealth account is a genuine account from day 1 as long as you are doing everything as you should. Keeping customers happy, uploading tracking, paying fees on time.

Why would you think otherwise ?

If you mean has any one put in their real details after establishing their stealth account then no, I personally haven't but I will be doing that soon when i'm forced to go managed payments.

When Managed Payments comes into the UK as mandatory, I will be at least attempting to switch a dozen accounts into my real name, just to see if it lets me. I figure I will lose the accounts anyways so I may as well try to make it work

One of the worst advice I was ever given on this forum when I first came here was that if paypal is banned but your ebay isn't ... to ditch both ebay/paypal accounts and start again.

All of my ebays with banned paypals are now being used with a FRESH paypal without any issue what so ever for well over a year. But you have so many people struggling to establish new ebays today. Thank god I held on to all of my ebay accounts.

DO NOT ever ditch accounts you will always have a use for them at some point.

Well thats kinda what I meant I guess, I am going to attempt to switch them over because its better than abandoning them

There is also this panicking..its all essentially based on whether mistmatched names will work or not.

If they do, then all the accounts can remain Stealth surely? Use the same ID docs as you used for PayPal, a little creativity on the bank statement they require and its done.

There was a poster saying ETSY allowed him to use a mismatch.

It's worth trying a mismatch on ONE account first before doing anything else.

I agree, I wish I had never listened to the common 'advice' about not using new paypals on accounts that had had one taken down. I've had two running new paypals for almost a year now without issue.

However, my problems have always been PayPal, Ive never had any issues with eBay accounts, aside from my banned one :)
