MP (Managed Payments) ??
 

If ebay is in process of switching from PayPal to managed
payments, is this a bad time to get a stealth account, since
they come with PayPal? Is it better to wait until stealth accounts
are updated and changed with the new payment system?

Most definitely wait if you are opting for a completely stealth account with fictious details.

It's common sense to me. As tinsoldier says a good quality established account will most definitely receive less scrutiny otherwise many thousands of well established stealh sellers that have been selling for many years, generating hundreds of thousands in fees for ebay will all have their business closed overnight.

Business accounts will be forced to go MP by summer, with personal accounts there after.

START TODAY. Establish your ebay / paypals now. Don't delay.

I disagree.

While the principal is correct about building new accounts, not knowing whether mismatched names will work on the account/bank account, it can essentially kill an account dead in the water if it does.

I do agree though that aged accounts and in the initial chaos of verification will be under less scrutiny, but there are way to many unknown elements and factors to be buying expensive accounts.

My advice would be to make or buy a custom account with a very similar name and address to your own to prepare for managed payments in a better way than it being completlely fictitous.

I think this is the worst possible time to be buying accounts.

If it were me I wouldn't be willing to drop any money on one until at least July when they're saying accounts will start to be mandated in. My gut feeling though is that all these stealth personal accounts with made up details will become dead in the water. Nobody has been able to stealth Etsy in the way it's done with eBay.. so I don't have any reason to think it will be different once eBay starts exclusively using the same payment processor as Etsy.

While there is much we don't much about how Adyen MP is going to affect our current stealth accounts, we need to look at what we do know in order fo find solutions:
1. Signing up for MP will REQUIRE a you to enter a SSN that must match the information you enter. An identity check will be performed for all accounts (this is no different than any other payment processor or bank)
2. Your bank information MUST match your details entered letter for letter.

Waiting for sellers to provide accounts with MP attached (instead of PayPal) is futile. It will NEVER happen for the same reasons you can't purchase one today with an attached SSN and bank account. It's illegal and nobody is risking jail-time to sell a $200 account, and nobody ever will.

As for creating new accounts that use "close details" including nicknames, close addresses, etc...that will not work due to the two points I mentioned above. An identity check is just that, they're going to know exactly who you are before granting you a MP account.

All is not lost as we all know that Ebay has never had access to your SSN. Adyen will not share SSN information to Ebay either. This is the focal point we need to address going forward. Managed payments should allow for multiple accounts, so we'll be able to still have the ability for several (using LLC'S and S-Corps, etc) but will they all be linked? I suspect that will be the biggest obstacle going forward.

If I'm being 100% honest ...

I just want my accounts to last forever. I learnt my mistake when I got suspended and have been operating on point ever since ...

But in stealth mode.

I just need ebay to give me one chance to continue to do that. I have no interest in making any new accounts. All of my current accounts are good earners and I intend to keep them that way if i'm forced to use my real details on all of them and they continue to let me stay on.

How do you know Ayden won't share your SSN with eBay?

If the SSN is not shared with eBay then there would be no fear in opening many single member LLCs and using your SSN for all your stores.

My belief is that this information is shared.

Managed payments should allow for multiple accounts, true. But what happens when one accounts falls will there be a domino effect? I believe this to be true as well.

i have a question , what about sellers from other countries , other than usa and the EU , will this system be rolled for them too , and if they do , is it going to have the same ID verification thing , and the identical name on the bank account ,

that managed payment new system is making a big change for the whole stealth scene and i would like to know where its heading , before we are forced to get lost and find a boring job

The information is shared. It is given/uploaded to eBay, and then they use it on the Ayden verification terminal to verify identity. Ayden are not setup in eBays offices, they have an online portal where all the info given is entered and then tested.

Remember, its the banking system that does name matching now. Whether it can be fluffed remains to be seen, however Ayden do much more in depth checks than PayPal.

Everyone will be using MP by 2023.

Interesting, they can do bank check only in 21 countries now.
So maybe some countries will be stealthbay for more time.
