Can eBay track us from our computer
 

Hello everyone
We all now that ebay and PayPal can track our cookies and flash cookies and IPs
But the question is can they track us other ways?
Like see our computer name mac address devices serials number
Any answers?

Not something they'd be able to see through your web browser. Would require executable plugins which report home.

All that does is give them the ability to see what ports you may have open. I read the article that was posted twice yesterday, and eBay seems to be running that scan as a fraud prevention method so they can see if remote access applications are running on the computer an account is accessing eBay from.

By no means does checking to see if a port is open or not give eBay the ability to see hard-coded hardware addresses on your machine. You'd have to have some kind of plugin or executable installed which runs directly on your machine (not in your browser) and reports back to eBay via the internet.
