A basic question for the more experienced please

Hello all. Apologies if this has already been answered. How is everyone dealing with the return address/ returns on true stealth accounts. Is it ok to use an address for return that was the primary address of a previously restricted account? Many thanks.

You can - just should let the buyer know via e-mail or outside ebay platform if you can - just to be safe.

What I've always done is to add my valid return address as a "return address" in account settings. It won't get you linked because tons of sellers are using warehouse or fulfillment center addresses.

I don't change the primary address on the account - just add my address as a return address in return settings.

Thank you. That’s what my concern was regarding getting linked. Some buyers will use an automatic return feature within eBay which I think becomes active when you list an item and select that you accept returns. That feature will only accept returns to the return address stated in eBay - which as you said can be different to the stealth address and is perfect if no linkage!

Yes, you're right. eBay has gotten very bad about automatically accepting returns for sellers these days.

That's actually why I started experimenting with adding my real address as a return address. I got tired of returns being sent to random stealth addresses in different parts of the country. I've had the same return address on my 3 biggest accounts for about 3 years now, and it's smooth sailing so far.

Thanks for that phaz0rz - good knowledge to have. Yes exactly, in an instant a return is accepted and if it’s a mediocre to expensive item being returned to a stealth address then you just lose out even more.
