Ways for eBay to verify VAT?
 

Hi Guys,

this is a question for anyone from the UK.

If you were thinking about continuing to sell with your eBay stealth account after the 80k are reached:

What ways does eBay have to verify the VAT number you have added? Is there a public database, that links all VAT numbers to names and adresses or is it like in other countries that you can only check the validity of the VAT number, but not the name and address attached?

If you mean to register a stealth account with someone else's VAT -- you won't be able to do it. :)

There is a public database where all VAT numbers can be checked

This was initiated because of the Carasel VAT frauds and the gold coin VAT fraud

It meant dodgy traders could no longer run the defence of 'I have a copy of his VAT registration M'lud, how was I to know it was dodgy?' when charged with conspiracy to commit VAT fraud

I am just looking for this public database, where VAT can be reviewed against name and address.

The only databases I know of are the ones where you can review the validity of a VAT number at a certain day.

i have the same problem here do you find the solution please help me. uk ebay accounts kill me with 10 in limit.
