Unfortunately, we're unable to verify your identity
 

Haven't been on ebay for some time now. I decided to come back to sell a few things I have laying around, created the account and when I try to create a seller account, right after I enter the pin code they send me on my phone, I get an error message saying "Unfortunately, we're unable to verify your identity, please contact us" or something like that.

I am not contacting them because from my experience if you need to contact ebay you're doing something wrong.

My method has always worked and never had issues. i use virtual phone numbers and virtual credit cards (and then later on when I'm done I pay with a real one time payment for the fees)

I read some other topics from a few months ago on this and it seems like some people are saying they get this error even with a real phone number and real everything.

It's been a few months since these topics were created. Anyone know anything?

(And obviously since im getting this message while trying to create a seller account I haven't even entered any payment info just yet, just the virtual phone number that's there)

In short: it's your phone number that's causing this.

Yea you can't get away with virtual phone numbers now will that my experience I have always use a new sim card a new phone with my accounts never had I problem
