VERO image takedowns.

So how does Vero image takedowns work? Could anyone sign up with Vero and claim they're the rights owner of an image? :violin:

What evidence does eBay demand from the entity filing the Vero report?

Re: VERO image takedowns.

No nobody can just sign up and claim that they own the rights to an image. Normally the takedown for VERO is related to just selling of the product. VERO stands for Verified Rights Owner Program. Almost every company that has a product worth .10 is already signed up.

If your listings were getting taken down ONLY because of the image then why not just take high quality images yourself and also watermark them? If you think their images are higher quality and you have no photoshop skills then just hire some off of freelancer.com and get the job done for like $10.

Re: VERO image takedowns.

I have never gotten a listing taken down for image violations as I carefully pick my photos...etc

I was just wondering if a competitor could in theory sign up with VERO and file a bogus claim that they own my listing's images, would eBay immediately bow down and take action?

No a competitor couldn't just sign up and claim the image. Like I said whoever is the manufacture of the product is already probably registered with the VERO program.

But anybody can report a listing to Ebay for review and that can lead to getting it taken down.

Actually they can, and have. It's a copyright claim and not trademark. You just need to prove your photo is older, put a time stamp on it. Trust me, maybe it's changed in the last year. But, i've had it done to me, and well.

Lucky for you, your competitors aren't assholes in your niches
