Strange conversion rate phenomena!!
So I list a new item and it gets 20 views the 1st day and 30 views on the 2nd. Out of those 50 views I get 20 sales (Pretty high conversion rate).
Starting the 3rd day the listing will get 30-40 views a day for the 1st week, but the conversion rate will drop by 50-60% (This has been the case with different products, categories...etc).
The only explanation I can think of is that the views of the first 2 days happened while the listing was showing on top of search results to help it gain memontum, but starting the 3rd or 4th day, the views are coming from "bottom views" meaning the items are being displayed to buyers who are browsing the 2nd or 3rd page of search... the listing will then slowly climb its way up as more sales are added to its record.
