UK rolling out Managed Payment on Private Sellers
 

Apologies if its been discussed already but I've just had notification on one of my UK private seller accounts that I'm being moved over to Managed Payments.

Just a heads up as it's clear the site wide roll out we thought could take take ages is starting.

On that private account, was it aged and did it have a significant amount of sales/feedback?

Aged, close to a decade old and legit but only used sparingly in conjunction with other stealth private accounts so as not to trigger mandatory conversion to business account.

Being legit there's no issues at my end, but might not be so relaxed when it hits my stealth accounts, some of which aren't much younger and have done more sales.

Sounds like they might be starting their initial targeting towards older accounts, but it's clearly happening.

This is rough, did they give you a deadline to sign up? Or was it just a generic 'we hope to activate all sellers by 2023'?

Ok that's a problem.

It's great that I have one account on MP but that has my real details. I don't know how easy it's going to be with my stealth info.

Seems to be generic. When I click through the links I get asked 'continue as private, change to business'

I wonder if, by doing it now, they are looking to convert my account to a business account, although lightly used it's pretty clear, given the goods I sell are new, it's not a genuine private seller account. I would have thought they'd have fired out the 'you're account status needs to change' message by now but maybe this is a new approach to those deemed to be businesses using private accounts. Who knows?

I wont be signing up until forced to and stopped at the link in the image, lets see where it goes.

I clicked on continue selling as private and those were the pages that were presented to me which I have posted in that thread.

Not looking good and I am actually feeling very very anxious. It's that feeling of whether I will pass the checks and my business will be closed with me sitting on thousands in stock feeling ...

I am definitely going to wait until forced as well.

I just wish people genuinely share their methods if they get a stealth through.

Most people are helpful in there initial methods, but i think, once a formula has been found, they may be afraid there sharing with a competitor, i can see both sides.

Well it's either it works with made up docs or it doesn't to be honest. No specific method. And everyones getting them using the same sources.

There are a couple of posters on here who say they are fully on MP, but i don't think any doc's are accepted at the moment, who knows!
