I am browsing the forums and considering creating a stealth account
here is my situation
I receive a 50% discount from supplements i order and was selling them on ebay. I then got a letter/email from the supplement company and attorney telling me to stop selling or they would pursue a lawsuit. So i stopped.
My ebay account is fine. Not banned with zero restrictions.
I am assuming the company purchased one of my listings, after they bought it, saw my name and address and linked it to my professional account where i get the discount. Once they made the connections they presumed with the letter/potential lawsuit.
Im assuming the above statement is how they caught me. Are there any other ways they could have caught me?
Is a stealth account the way around this if i wanted to presume? Stealth account with a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name/adress/email?
Would linking my paypal with my new stealth put me at risk?
Since my ebay account was never banned, is getting caught with my new potential stealth account at a lower risk?

I am not an attorney, but these companies are bullies for the most part. If you're not selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗. Tell them to go fk themselves (by ignoring). That's my stance, we have the first sale doctrine. Are you violating MAP policy? That's something else, like i sell one particular brand on amazon a few years ago. They enforced MAP by ordering from me on amazon and threatened to take away my dealership. So i stopped. I've also received bully letters via fedex etc.. for other companies, of course some are more real than others. Never respond to anything that isn't an official court filing.

Did they send you a cease and desist letter via fedex or the mail?

Do they have your home address? Do you ship with your home address as return address? Ebay won't give them this data unless a subpoena, and then that would be a case has been made. They aren't that serious, not yet at least.

They didn't need to go through all that to get your info. If theyre the Rights owner and you do NOT have permission from them to sell their items all they need do is contact ebay and they'll get your information.
A stealth account can get shut down quite easily directly by ebay if theyre unable to contact you. Considering those are rather risky items to be selling in the first place I don't know how much success youll have taking that route.

I did recieve a letter from the attorney via mail and email. Yes they have my home address.

I was able to sell for 6 months until i got this notice. Maybe just try till the wheels fall off type approach?

Why would it get worse? With a stealth account wouldnt it protect me from exposing my real name/address?

You have to do what you're comfortable with. I have a relative who sells couponned goods on ebay, and the one company sends him threatening letters and messages all the time. Nothing has ever happened. Doesn't mean it can't though. Just don't do anything illegal. If you're 100% legit, what legs do they have?
