Default Gloating and exhausted

just letting you know having a regular ebay account is peace of mind. I got mind suspended awhile back and then 4 years of trying each year got it back and cherished my account cause this life is short and I got lucky. Got suspended from slow shipping due to working other job at the time and some reason they reinstated me (being persistent pays off). I didn't want to jump into ebay immediately as I realize how important account is these day in age . Especially stronger security and stronger expectations. Back in the days ebay was so easy to get back on if they didn't like your business practice. Well I learned my mistake and spent 2 years building up a eBay plan and finding the right products and working with manufactures and my sales have been around 20 to 25k a month now and saved enough for condo here in Seattle. I don't like to gloat but guess it's nice to share when all i do is work (i do programming also). But helping my folks too so kind of have to be greedy. lol Anyways point is, this site helped me get my stealth accounts to work while I was trying to get my real accounts back and if I didn't do stealth and tried getting stealth accounts via non stealth, i'm pretty sure they would link my accounts and see that in my records and I'll never get my real account back.

Side question, is there any sites out there that will get as big as ebay? Just seems like nothing as big as eBay from the start. I run my own sites too but marketing is not easy and congested with more smart buyers and sellers now.

I've always wanted legit ebay accounts after being banned ... but thankfully there was a way to get back on via stealth. So I am also grateful for this site as are many others i'm sure.

Congrats on the success you found.

Yes when i got banned first time i think if my emotion and impatience took over i would have just started new stealth without thinking. Since back in the days it was so easy to (like just sending in fax etc). Stumbled upon this site and interesting timing and realized how much ebay has changed. Stealth is still good for selling.

This place is certainly a blessing. And most of the people here are amazing.

You need to surround yourself with amazing people if you want to improve.

ebay got in hard and early in the auction game - the name is so widely-known that it will take time but sure, evolution can happen - etsy, poshmark, wish, etc...

etsy i'm out. I didnt know how big it would get. Wish i didn't sell copyrighted items on that site even though getting warnings. If poshmark and wish will get to etsy status, I'm definitely preserving and careful with these. Next 10 years hope to see some new rising star. Do regret etsy though it was good just i screwed up lol. Wish seems like it provides more exposure then poshmark. Mercari and bonanaza below these two sites?

Unless the Amazon monopoly is somehow broken up I seriously doubt there will be any new major e-commerce contenders in the next decade. eBay is holding on by a thread compared to Amazon and they're desperately doing things to be more like Amazon with each new quarter.

Etsy is too picky, Mercari is full of cheapskates, Bonanza is a joke most people have never heard of, Poshmark is a specialty marketplace, etc. They all have their place I guess but none of them will get you anywhere near the selling volume of Amazon, or even of eBay. Walmart.com was letting sellers onto their marketplace fairly easily a couple years ago but AFAIK they're a lot more strict with new seller applications now.

I dont see ebay lasting much longer, the website has become a joke. You used to be able to find items at GREAT prices from sellers, now its ridden with over priced no warranty no guarantee chinese sellers and fraudulent buyers.

Their strategy just confuses me, they ban people who have high turnover and encourage buyers to open claims (which are often flase)

And it works for ebay. They would rather entice people to buy pricey stuff ... ='s more fees for them to bank.

If you want cheap stuff go to facebook marketplace or gumtree and buy cash in hand.
