life crisis because of ebay suspension
 

After several years down I now have to admit that ebay was one of the most important things in my life.

For 5 years ago when I was a seller on ebay, I earned money which gave me a better life. My life situation was changed in a very good way, and I could have money to pay the bills for my father who was very ill and treated at hospital.

But I made a mistake, which leaded to my ebay account and paypal account suspended indefinitely.

After that my life fell from heaven down to the hell. Have tried different works but they didn't work for me. Went through a really hard time, even no money to pay rent....

After all hard time I have been to I know to be back as a seller on ebay would be the only way to go because that was the only thing I was good at during all years of my life.

But I know ebay is extremly hard, once you did wrong you would never get a chance to be forgiven. Simply, I could not get my account back, and any new registered account would be immediately suspended.

Yesterday I tried to register new account on the computer I never used to log in any ebay account, but got a message that the account was permanently suspended--right after registration. I didn't even write my real given name, and used a total new telephone number and home adress. How the hell could they know it was me? :doh::doh:

So now I sitting here, just want to cry, because I really don't know what to do..have no friend to help, and my father was dead....

ok, now after I have looked back all the past, I might have written the same name(nickname as given name but not my real give name, and surname is the same) on ebay as before..
the newly suspension happened after I tried to register as a seller. I chose selling catalogue, which was exact same catalogue as for 5 years ago when I was a seller.
Can they link me with my old account from the same name and same selling catalogue and same city?

same name,same address,bank account,IP address ,but not same catalogue,I doubt Ebay keeps track of what you sold 5 years ago.
did you clear all the cookies on your computer.
sorry for your father passing away,it is good you took care of him.
if you have a friend who sells on Ebay,can you consign some items to him to sell for you

i'm kinda curious as to what type of stuff your were selling. i see all these ebay success stories and am kinda jealous to admit the truth. I understand stealth I just don't know where people get these wonderful items to sell...

You got banned because it's christmas time I think. Security is at it's peak. Black friday, cyber week, xmas, boxing day ... scammers paradise at this time.

You won't be banned for life. I'm the perfect example of that ...

Got banned several years ago now but i'm back on ebay selling better than ever on accounts that started off as stealth but now have all my real info on there. At one point I even had a ebay specialist email me asking whether I was interested in working with him 1 to 1 to grow my business even more. No joke !

It's all under their discretion.

Try again but follow stealth exactly down to the last letter ... after about 6 months, you can get lazy. And when you are forced on to managed payments, just give your real details.

Thank you for the consideration about my father. That makes my heart so warm. Did try all I could to take care of him.

I believe the new & old accounts have same name, same city, same selling catalogue;
but different computers (I never log in any ebay account on this computer before, but I did open emails at the gmail adress I used to sign on ebay and paypal, but never log in the old ebay and paypal account ),
different adresses but in the same city,
different IPs(as you said, the IP could not be the same as for 5 years ago, plus I am in a new adress )
I hadn't provided any bank account or credit card information yet before ebay sent me message that the account was permanently suspended...

This has happened to most the senior members of the forum 10-15 years ago.

My advice if you are serious about eBay:

1. definitely start with the stealth guide. This will teach you the foundation of stealth itself. VERY important.

2. After reading the guide a few times, come to this forum and ask specific questions.

3. Make at least 3 accounts. You wouldn't want to put all your eggs in 1 basket like you used to.

IE: I have well over 30 accounts and each one is 15 years old now.

they get them anywhere,everywhere they can,the key is what to GET.
Local estate auction,garage sale,sidewalk dumpster diving,basement,attic,dollar store,supermarket bins of half open box but item intact,closeout,wholesaler,distributor.
There is a story of 2 AMZN marketplace sellers ,when WMT closes a superstore,they are ready to pounce,not just for the discount but also shipping,you can get a variety of goods to resell,without paying shipping.
read the newspaper,attend trade shows,soeak with wholesalers,manufacturer.
They also buy from Aliexpress,you just have to know WHAT TO BUY,knowing what people want is the key,finding what they want at the price you can make a profit

Just like someone has mentioned. I too was banned in 2012, did not sell until 2016 when I created a new stealth account. 2018 I changed the name on the stealth account to my real name, with a new phone and ppal account.

That's great to hear. I was also worried about my income years ago. And you will most definitely get back on there.

I still worry that they will turn off the tap in a moments notice. But at this stage I have made enough capital to be able to invest in to other things if that did happen. Just waiting for covid to be over and I will have another side hustle in the events industry up and running. But in regards to ebay I have also spread the risk across multiple accounts, some of which aren't on MP yet so aren't associated to my main accounts at all (still on stealth info).

I am still seriously wishing for someone to figure out how to stealth on MP. But in the meantime just providing real details appears to be working fine as well, I haven't lost a single account thanks to the members that came on here and said they failed MP verification with their creative docs which prevented me from trying the same so I just submitted my real (previously banned) info.

As I mentioned in the previous replies, I am using a different computer, new home adress*(which means new ip), new telephone number, but still got banned right after my registration.

I got message as following:
I understand that you are concerned due to the suspension placed on your eBay account. To ensure the safety of the eBay community, we may restrict accounts until we can receive additional verification to confirm identity.

In order for us to evaluate your request to uplift the suspension, we need some information from your end. We will require you to provide scan copy (color) of one Proof of Identity and one Proof of Address.

Does that mean they banned me not for finding connection with my old account but just a routine for checking? since I tried to open selling account directly after my registration.

Sounds like an automated ban based on account setup. What IP are you using? Good to list the account creation steps for analysis

I used the real IP of the router, sitting at home, operating on a secondhand PC I bought from a guy in local.
Live in the same city as 5 years ago, but new place is about 4-5km away from the old one.
Have new telephone number.
email adress was registered last year.

I opened ebay.com, clicked sign up, filled in email adress and name(here is just an example, I filled in Maja K. ,maja is a nick name,not my real name, K is shorting of my last name.

Registration was successful, I signed in automatically，

I clicked Account settings, filled in more information like adress and telephone number etc. Got a sms on my phone and I filled in, the phone number has been verified.

Clicked Sell, the page jumped to catalogue page, I chose the catalogue I used for 5 years ago.

I clicked back to Account settings again, in personal info I saw my email hasn't been verified yet, so I opened my mail and did as the side told, got a code and filled in.

The last step was to create a seller account, ebay provided a name but I didn't like it, so I changed to another name.

But just after maybe 1 minuter, I got a message that my account is permanently suspended, no reason was given.
I sent them message, and got a reply that they wanted me to send in documents to prove my identity.

The first message about suspension:

Hello XXXX,


Your eBay account has been permanently suspended because we noticed activity that we believe is a risk to our community.

This means the following:
- You can’t buy or sell on eBay any longer. Any other accounts that you own or that are associated with this account have also been suspended.
- Outstanding selling fees are due immediately, and any amounts that you haven’t previously disputed will be charged to the payment method we have on file.

The safety of our community is a top priority for us, so our decision to permanently suspend your account is final and can’t be appealed.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding this matter, select Help & Contact at the top of most eBay pages.

After I sent a message wondering why I got banned, I got a reply:

Hello XXXX,

Thank you for contacting eBay. My name is A and I will assist you with the suspension on your account.

I understand that you are concern for suspension. About the suspension, we ensure the safety of the eBay community, we may restrict accounts until we can receive additional verification to confirm identity. After resolving suspension, you will able to do buying activities on your account.

I noticed the customer serivice wrote ''After resolving suspension, you will able to do buying activities on your account'', so I replied and asked if I can sell on ebay then.

The person replied:

I understand your concern for selling after suspension resolve on your account.

The problem with me now, I couldn't send them proof of identity, because they would immdiately recognize me and linked me with my old account.

No because I have no plans of growing it anymore than it is as I will have to operate differently and it's too risky when it's all dependent on being able to sell on eBay.

it sounds like you are suspended because it is a new account and they need IDs,not because they link you to an old account.
what is the reason your old Ebay and Paypal account got suspended?
You may chance it and submit your real IDs,5 years ago,Ebay did not ask much for anyone who wants to sell,they did not ask for SSN,I dont recall driver license either.

The reason that I was suspended for 5 years ago was because of outstanding ebay fee, they tried to charge from connected paypal account which leaded to minus balance on paypal. So both ebay and paypal were gone.

Tried to create a new paypal for 4 years ago, but failed. So I don't want to chance on ebay this time......

When I took home the PC, I just checked the storage of hard disk and internet setting...the hard disk was empty and browsing history was cleaned up, so I didn't do anything else.
