Change address of housemate's account to avoid link and possible suspension

After violating some of eBay's policies, multiple of my accounts were suspended (they weren't stealth).

The thing is, my housemate's account, which uses the same address (and that's about it) was not suspended yet, but I was told by another member of this forum that it may eventually get banned.

They said to slowly change any linking details, so the only thing I would have to change is the address. Can I do that, and will that actually avoid the chance of my housemate being linked and suspended?

Really trying to protect their account, would feel like a big asshole if my actions caused them to lose their aged account.

They might already be linked so even if he/she slowly changes details, the link would not go away - that being said, tough to tell if the chance is "high" of being suspended

The account was registered in 2000 and has 100% positive feedback, they have a really good track record, always played by the rules, and they don't sell much. They sold a bit lately and wanted to start an eBay store, but the items were completely different and he delivered all on time with tracking confirmation.

One small thing is that for one sale, they used a PayPal account under my name due to them having trouble with theirs.

I really hope they don't get suspended. Based on the details I gave, how likely do you think that they will be suspended? If they do, they could still provide the ID to prove that their not me?

While one time is unlikely to cause issue, this use of your pp account was not a good decision - only time will tell

It wasn't the same one linked to any of my suspended accounts, a personal account that I used use for my other e-commerce endeavours back in 2018, but it was in the same name.

Really, really praying right now. The account is kinda sentimental to them, so I'll be really upset if anything happens.

Take "stealth" steps but since 2 years+ have passed and their account is still active....you might be ok (nothing is 100%)

My accounts weren't suspended 2 years ago, (unless you mean that their account is still active after around month)

What do you mean by "stealth steps"? I've already told them to lay low, and end all listings and sales activity until a period of time later.

Anything else I should do that may be able to minimise the risk?

Thank you so much for your input

Good - that's really all you can do minimize potential damage from prior links

Does eBay automatically process links, or does it only happen when a human actually takes a closer look?

Some parts of this isn't looking too good, that PayPal account has been places too, so I'm really, really hoping for the best.
