Why ebay add me fees 10% on shipping price

Hello, I have a problem, i sell my items on ebay, but i saw i pay 10% of taxes on items value + 10 % taxes on shipping fees WHY I'M PAYING ALSO 10 % ON SHIPPING?..thanks

Sellers used to try dodging final value fees by charging a very high shipping cost + a very low listing price, so eBay started charging final value fees on shipping costs some time ago.

I saw this a decade ago and they aren't allowing this type of practice anymore.

So I don't think it's reasonable that they slapped the FVF onto the s/h cost as well.

Is people still doing this?

Sellers still use inflated shipping fees to protect themselves from returns. Shipping fees aren't refunded when items are returned

No, eBay charges the FVF fee on the combined total of the item's costs plus the shipping fee. There is no way around this, it's been like this for years.

If you're going to charge for shipping, you'll need to charge 10% higher than the actual shipping cost to compensate for the fees you'll owe eBay. It's really as simple as that.

It's less than ideal but it is what it is. :ballchain:

But yeah. This isn't new. Ebay used the excuse of people tryign to get one over on ebay. But that could have easily been solved by not charging anyone that's using the shipping calculator.
