85k vat threshold
 

I will inevitably reach the 85k sales threshold for 12 months this week.

I understand i will receive a message about having to show a VAT number, but do they stop you from listing immediately, or do ebay let you list items during the next 30 days after they notify you?

I don't care about losing the account, i just want to sell what i have left as fast as possible, even after surpassing 85k in sales.

Some accounts get flagged way earlier others don't. But if you definitely exceed 85k you will get flagged pretty sharpish I would say.

But forget about the ebay account I would be more concerned about going over that threshold because when caught hmrc have the powers to make you pay.

Ebay don't forward details to HMRC i heard.

But yes, even if HMRC catch on, i'll pay whatever is required, i just want to offload my stock ASAP.

Ebay will send detail of anyone who they believe is possibly avoiding VAT registration, it was a major part of the agreement they, Amazon and Etsy signed up to.

Ahh, i willl probably let it hit 84k and leave it at that :(
