Selling on .com from the UK
 

Sorry if this has been covered before - I am sure it has but I can’t seem to find it!

I have UK seller account, but I want to expend my sales to the US, not by using eBay GSP but by listing on eBay.com with the item location as USA.

I then have two options -

A) find a partner physically located in the USA to help with packing and shipping the items. I have a potentially solution for this but the cost is high and it really reduces profits. OR.

B) ship items to the USA from the UK. They would get there in a decent amount of time, and even with FedEx costs it works out cheaper.

Does anybody else here lost on .com with an item location of the USA, but then ship from outside the USA? If so, do buyers tend to notice/care, as long as it gets there within the states time?!

Would the buyer be charged import taxes etc when they receive the item, which would give the game away, and of course annoy the buyer? All items are priced less than $150

Any other issues!?

Buyers do notice and would care if not clearly stated the delay of time involved based on location of shipping.

The buyer could be charged import taxes as applied by ebay (global shipping policy etc) - an uninformed buyer probably wouldn't like that.

I think as long as you can deliver within the stated timeframe you should be ok (especially if you are a "big" seller).
