stealth account VAT number wanted?
 

stupidly dint realize so much money went into the sales within the 12 month windows and ebay restricted account until a valid vat number is entered - its a stealth account - anyone know a way around it to get the account opened back up - account is 10 years old so dont really want to lose it

I am in the same position, but entering VAT for me is bad for profits so i would rather lose the account.

I have heard others say provide a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ VAT number but that will not work forever.

Your best bet is converting the account to real details and then adding a VAT number, but of course this could cause links.

You can try change all Item Location to another country , should fix the Prob..

that is if you sell on .uk.co then change it for Example to Ireland or Netherlands

just putting it out there -what if I change all details to a random company online with there address and then their vat - put that in - then after a month once the sales drops below 85k on the 12 month window just revert back to stealth details

right now I just need to unlock the restriction? what do you think?

the ebay box just says enter valid vat number but obviously this needs to match register details?



any more ideas guys

Any VAT number you add will be verified. The will not remove it unless you can prove deregistration.

Given that it's a decade old, how about investigating the possibility of going legit?

But will it be verified if the VAT registration information (which is publicly searchable) does not match with the information registered on your eBay account?

Also, probably a stupid question, but will eBay link two accounts which have added the same VAT number?

theres a guy that did the maths of going legit with vat

if you earn 85K you need to turn over £123k to make the same profit as 84k

thats why people keep under the vat but we made the mistake - it wasnt by much but ether way it flagged up

- following on from removing a vat number - is it really that hard? - if the following 12 months your under the threshold you can deregister if it was legit but dont understand why it would ned proving to ebay if your sales are showing under the 12 month limit?? do ebay need that info #?

I don't see what options you have, I doubt there's a viable solution particularly if it involves fraudulently trying to use another sellers number. IMO that's simply going to cost you your account.

Deregistering is indeed easy, that's why ebay wont remove it without confirmation - because it's exactly that, Easy. You don't even have to wait a year, you can do it within a matter of months. To be fair to ebay they have no way of knowing what other platforms you sell on so for them to assume you have no other turnover would be wrong of them.

As for the guy who did the calculations, I guess he never heard of the flat rate scheme......
