Ebay suspension, major panic, please help me

Hi all, I am new here so please be kind. I’m appealing for any information you can give me, as I’m in limbo at the moment and it’s horrible.

I have had a personal (all my real info) Ebay account for about 18 years, good standing/feedback 100% etc. I use it pretty much constantly for buying, but not much for selling. Last Autumn I started selling digital items for a month or so then stoped when my stock ran out. All fine. In December I got more stock and decided to start it up as a separate venture on a fresh Ebay account, with my work name, email and phone number, but same address and PayPal as the other account. Nothing to hide, I just wanted to separate it from home stuff and make more of a specialist account. Listed and sold a few bits, before realising the 10listing limit. So I thought I would list a some bits on the new account each month and some on my personal, until the limits got higher/ I could phone them and ask them to raise it. All perfect sales on both accounts and happy buyers.
Until wham! The new account got permanently suspended without warning, for (what I now know was) unlicensed Vero/i property selling.

I’m gobsmacked! I had NO idea I was doing anything wrong. I promptly paid my new account Ebay fees and looked up the issue, then quickly removed my listings from my older account, never to sell them again. Since then (3 days ago) the old account is still going, though I haven’t bought or sold anything.

From trawling through the internet I see there is a good chance my older account and anyone that has used my internet connection or devices to log into their Ebay, will get their account punished at some unknown point? Is this true, has anyone had a similar situation and it worked out ok?

My main question is:
Do I contact Ebay and beg for the new account to be reinstated, so that it can’t poison any other accounts? Thereby alerting them to the fact that I do have another account and risk that getting popped.

Or, do I leave it and stay a nervous wreck waiting for the older account to get banned at some unexpected moment, then appeal that?

I have been looking into getting the book, it I’m not sure it would work in my situation, as I just want to be a be able to buy off eBay as its where I buy everything. at the moment I’m happy to never sell again!

Any help really appreciated, as you guys seem much more knowledgable then I am :pout:

Welcome to the forum - all the best as you master stealth :thumb:

Sounds like a messy combo - time to get backup accounts going.

Digital items is a rough market though as well

From my experience if your old account is still good now and you only use it for buying you will be fine, its when you start selling, if something raises a flag to them they might look into your accounts and connect and restrict that one too. You can always try appeal it phone them or web chat but dont mention your other account but it is very unlikely they will un-restrict the account

Thank you for replying guys.

Anyone else have similar experience; that I can still get away with just buying on the old account?

I’m also terrified that any family/friends that (although they have completely different details etc) have used my WiFi and device to log into their Ebay, will get suspended too. Is that correct?

Meaning I need to try and reinstate the account otherwise it could spread the their households?! does it ever end?

this is the same thing that happened to a lot of people15 years ago.

Now that you know eBay can pull the plug ANYTIME for ANY reason, the best solution is to make stealth accountS and diversify.

Start with the stealth guide then come back here for support.

They will eventually ban you if there is a solid link.

Do a fresh install of Windows and never login to that old account ever again using the same browser you use for your buying eBay account
