Buyer account suspended... seller account next?
 

My eBay buyer account was just suspended (for, what I believe, is an absurd reason). My seller account uses a different email address, but has occasionally used the same address / IP address / PayPal account.

1) What can I do to try to prevent my seller account being suspended? I know it's important to change name slightly, IP address, physical address, create a new user name for my computer, etc., but I don't want to get flagged for trying to make two many changes at once.

2) Has anyone ever not had their seller account suspended after having a buyer account suspended?

3) Will my PayPal account be shut down too? Or are they fully separate entities?

maybe you were a non-paying buyer. a lot of people don't pay for items that they win in auction it really ticks me off. just be honest, is that what happened? or were you shill-bidding?

What absurd reason?

1. Your seller account may already be linked if you did not create it solidly via stealth. Changing info can lead to issues.
2. I haven't had this happen but it's a possibility
3. Many cases where the PP is not affected but again, without ton of info to analysis...can't say 100%

It was for "making faulty returns". As a seller, I triple check all my items for issues. These were items that were in much worse quality than advertised. I never opened a case, but I guess listing the item as defective when making a return instead of "I didn't like it" and ordering from one large seller a few times and having issues set off the system.

I didn't create my seller account in Stealth. Is your advice that I keep the PayPal info and my account address and name all the same? Should I try changing my IP address? Would like to do whatever I can to keep it.

You are probably the worst nightmare that eBay sellers hate.

If you kept opening returns, with established sellers, with BS return reasons, will soon get you flagged. I expect that the seller may have charged you a handling fee from the return amount, this flags a buyer dispute with eBay and to many of these will get you kicked out.

I really do not want to help you due to the fact your buyer account was suspended and from what you are indicating here your seller account will get linked and that will go south as well.

My only advice is to subscribe to the stealth guide, glean all the information in there and then apply it to your seller account.

Thanks for your post, but I'm really not. 95% of the time it's perfect. I've had clothes described as nearly new come with holes. Appreciate your help though.

I would make sure you are now using a new user account, and new IP and just keep it simple from here on out

Stop abusing the returns.

eBay doesn't ban people for making 1 or 2 returns.
