Item was returned due to '' DESTINATION COUNTRY PROHIBITS ''

Hello Everyone,

I shipped a tablet to Italy from the US by USPS but it was returned to the sender because of '' DESTINATION COUNTY PROHIBITS '' I asked the USPS for the refund but they refused , now who should pay the shipping fee ? the buyer is asking for the full refund while i have paid the shipping fee and it was not my fault , The buyer has opened a paypal dispute and threatening for Ebay negative feedback , Please advise .

Is it not your responsibility as a seller to know whether or not you can legally export an item into another country?

It's not the USPS responsibility. It's yours.

I'd not spend too much energy on this and just relist the item and move on.

Stop reacting and start proactive.

I have cases where USPS wants seller pays return shipping,I also have cases where it is free,USPS charges nothing.
It could be what is the reason it is returned?

I think the cargo company should have warned you, the procedures change every day, they know where there is a ban

Sad fact is the seller must apply due diligence to ensure an item can be exported.

The listing must offer a full explanation even to the point of not selling to various countries.

One of those cases where you will have to comply - it's annoying but, risk of business

So Italians can't import tablets?

Or did you do something shady on the customs form, OP?

Yeah, a reduction of RRP might cause a 2nd glance.:brushteeth:

There would be warranty issues because of voltage issues. Plug is then different too. Disaster waiting to happen,

Re: Item was returned due to '' DESTINATION COUNTRY PROHIBITS ''

I had an item returned as prohibited in their country. I can't possibly imagine why this item would be prohibited. Tiny little metal part for something. So there would be no way for me to do my due diligence to find out before I ship.

I shipped through ebay international shipping service tho, so supposedly they refunded my cost for label. I haven't bothered to check tho, as it's "only" $13.

Not sure how much yours was tho.
