How many items should i start off selling with my new ebay account

hello everyone. I recently started selling items online and made about $800 my first week on amazon, but then recently got suspended. now i am selling on ebay, and am doing pretty good so far. i want to know how many items should i start off with. i have a lot of tiny items that are worth about 5 dollars, should i sell a lot of those before i begin selling my more expensive products (while are selling for about $150) and how much money should i be making in a month so i wont drag attention from ebay. i really want to be cautious becuase i dont want to loose my ebay account as well..

I would sell a bunch of your 5 dollars items first. Sell about $350 the first month and so you can build up 40+ feedback and then move on to your more expensive items.

LOL. I got suspended from amazon too! Amazon is much worse than ebay. Depending on your feedback, if it is zero, I would start buying cheap items just to raise your feedback. I bought like 15 1 cent items to raise feedback. So far I haven't had any issues or suspensions with ebay. You should stay below 2k dollars a month. I remember getting suspended mainly because I made over 2k in 4 days, which led to my limitation on paypal.

seriously amazon seems much worse than ebay. after i got suspended from amazon i used my fiances bank account to make a new one, used a different computer and different IP and still got suspended after a few hours of making the new account...i wish i heard of this site before i did that tho. anyways i was thinking about making an ebay store..do you think that will lower suspicions of my ebay sells?? or does that even make a difference at all??

Ebay stores really don't do too much from my experience. Its also been the same way for a good number of forum members. One lesson I've learned- don't use paypal...make friends with a merchant account

i was thinking about making a merchant account but wouldnt you lose a lot of customers because they feel secure using paypal??

and why does everyone hate paypal?

mikeangel 10-22-2009 12:36 AM

wow.. this sucks i just realized cuz of the stuff i sell i can only accept paypal

I had an eBay store, and it was a complete waste of time and money. Everything I listed was cheap, but no one ever bought anything from the store. Taking the monthly store fee and using that for real listing insertion fees is a better way to go. I had stuff in the store that no one bought, and then I made them into a 30 day listing for more money and sold out.

Everyone hates Paypal because they lock up your money and make you jump through hoops to get it back. With a merchant again, the money gets processed on goes in your bank account, where as Paypal puts the money in their account where they can lock it before releasing it to you.
