Limited Company & Ebay???
 

What advise can someone give me

I also want to know if I set up a limited company.Then register on ebay as a company.do they just accept company name without me putting my name on account???

Obviously with totally different address.

YOu should start with a personal account first right now.

Then later you can upgrade to a business.

Ebay are not stupid and you would be well advised to stop thinking that they are

Limited Company is useful for bank account issues but not ID issues

That takes more thinking

Thanks guys for the replies.

I watched a video of what's required to open ebay business account and it showed you register in the business name and put a contact name,which had a drop down to state who you are e.g. Owner/Employee etc...Obviously my name cannot be used.

This is why I was thinking it would work along with new address,new internet provider,new computer and phone line or mobile.At the same time cut all previously used ebay account and everything else dead.

Also set selling pages up completely looking different and perhaps have business premises in different town

Yes a big outlay if it did not work!

At the moment with managed ebay payment coming I think it will screw a lot of us,so this is main reason I'm thinking out the box.

A Limited Company requires a Director. Although the trading name of the account can be 'ABC Limited' the account will be in the name of the Director who's residential address and ID will be required.

Thanks Hank ~ I did wonder on that one

My way of thinking was bank account would be in business name and the ebay account would match.Businesses do not have to show residential addresses.
A limited company has separate finances and is legally distinct from its owners

Okay information about limited companies is held on the public register, which is available for anyone to see,even ebay,but would they look unless you did something to bring your company to there attention

I just don't want to go down this way,if it goes wrong,it'll be an expensive mistake,this is why I'm trying to get information.

A LC is no help with ID issues. It is excellent for banking issues

Now .... if your LC had a director who was a 'clean skin' that would be a different matter
