| | | Rhonda | 04-21-2021 09:36 PM | Does this look like a scammer? Item sold on Mar 31st
Tracking number provided on Apr 13th
Buyer opens dispute on Apr 20th
-------------------------------------------------
Buyer's dispute message:
Apr. 19The buyer didn't receive the item
Buyer requested
The item
Comments:
I never received my item. I went to usps with the tracking number and the tracking number wasn’t my package. I’d still like the item but if that’s not going to happen I’d like a refund.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I checked buyer's account, it was registered on Mar 27th 2021, brand new with 0 review.
Tracking show item was delivered on Apr 16th
I asked him to tell us more in details on what is actually going on, and no response ever since then. |

| SaiJin | 04-21-2021 10:22 PM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? yes, but it'll take a few weeks maybe a month for the dispute to expire. |
| agent006140 | 04-21-2021 10:33 PM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? he said he never received the item, meaning the item is not what he ordered?
Then it is a case of INAD,not INR,he would be asked to return the item |

| slokor | 04-22-2021 12:01 AM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? That doesnt sound right.
And if he does decide to scam you all he has to do is respond and this can drag on for quite some time. |

| muzzie | 04-22-2021 06:46 AM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? There is no any way you can prove what you've actually sent to the buyer. eBay will just rob you and close the case. |
| phaz0rz | 04-22-2021 07:57 AM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? In my experience.. if the USPS tracking number shows delivery in the correct zip code, any eBay case will be found in your favor if the buyer escalates it for review.
I actually tell my buyers to escalate the case for review by eBay anytime tracking shows delivery in the correct location because I know I'll win the case every time.
If they choose to start an actual chargeback later that would be harder to fight but still winnable since you have a tracking number. |
| Kajunrook | 04-22-2021 08:50 AM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? I am getting a lot of those whereas USPS tracking says the item was delivered and they say they didn't get it. A lot of them are postal theft. People drive around stealing out of mailboxes. That is why my mailbox can only be accessed by a key. Some of these are my regulars, so I will reship item but must be reimbursed for shipping. Gotta keep my regulars. |

| Isn't that such a weird policy! I wonder what their thinking behind it is, because I would be PISSED as a buyer if something was delivered to my town and they told me tough shiit. |

| SaiJin | 04-22-2021 10:29 AM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? For cases like this, nowadays is a 50/50.
I have had cases where I even have a signature confirmation, shown delivered, signed etc etc etc, buyer claimed never received and I still lost.
Basically I have 0 trust when it comes to ebay.
Also whoever said 2-3 days they'll close the case, that's unlikely. |
| phaz0rz | 04-22-2021 10:36 AM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? I have a 100% success rate. The seller protection program is straightforward about how it works. As long as tracking shows delivery in the correct zip code during the correct time frame you're going to win. Simple as. |

| Fagor73 | 04-22-2021 11:32 AM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? I think in this case, the case will end with a refund, due to non-compliance with the description. |
| agent006140 | 04-22-2021 03:36 PM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? First OP should look at the case he open,is it item not received OR item not as described.
If it is the latter, then OP loses, tracking is meaningless.
There was a time one will order a gold chain from some guy in Pakistan and he shipped with tracking a pair of cheap sunglasses, and the buyer will win the case. |

I understand that you want to close the Item Not Received case because the item was delivered to your buyer. After reviewing the tracking details you provided, we could confirm a successful delivery to the buyer’s address. But this SMIR(Seller make it right) period must be completed before eBay steps in. You can contact us after SMIR period, or escalate the case to eBay after the SMIR period(29 April)
If you think a buyer performs fraud in transaction, please tell us by "reporting buyers":
- Click "sold" to find the corresponding order
- Click "action" below drop-down menu
- Click “report this buyer”
- select the corresponding reporting theme, if necessary, you can add to add the contents of the report, and finally click "submit"
I trust that I was able to address your concern today. Thank you for using eBay!

Buyer still has the chance to escalate case? Based on what evidence? |
| Rhonda | 04-22-2021 11:12 PM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? Should I report buyer as a scammer at this moment, or wait until the case is closed? |
| Rhonda | 04-23-2021 11:35 AM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? The scammer can't wait and escalated the case. What are my chances of winning? I have lost a few times with item delivered and still lose. Not so happy and optimistic with eBay. |
| ebaystealth1974 | 04-23-2021 11:46 AM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? You can't lose. If you do, at first, appeal it. Don't give up.
Like I said earlier, I've never lost a case when the tracking shows delivered. |

thats why he is going to Paypal.
What reason did he use ?If INAD,then
Paypal will ask the buyer to return the item back to the seller in HK and get his money back.
Now who is going to pay return shipping to HK with tracking?
PAYPAL has a policy of giving you some money for return lable but you must apply when you make payment, not when you open a dispute.
Returning an item back to HK would be expensive, unless it is pricey item, buyer would not be willing to do that.
Buyer can also file chargeback with his cc issuer ,not familiar with cc policy in HK? |
| agent006140 | 04-25-2021 07:42 AM | Re: Does this look like a scammer? question for OP-
buyer said tracking shows delivered, but the name and address on the package is not his and the item is not what he ordered.
Are you dropshipping?
Do you have the item ordered and shipped it yourself or you ask someone else to do it for you? |

In any event the buyer has been able to open a case, but it's not uncommon for buyers to fail to read dispatch times and delivery estimates. Some goods coming from China to Europe are quoting 50-60 days to arrive. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:51 AM. | |
