Ebay asking for social before allowing sales now.
 

I just allowed one account to age and was about to list something for sale when I am first hit with a seller resctriction that I had removed then an identity verification that asked for a social. I put mine in and it instantly said contact support. Not sure what to do at this point or even how it's possible to have multiple stealth accounts now that they have implemented this.

If your stealth account is in your coutry just pick a used phone and a new SIM card don’t connect yo yo it home WiFi or somth it will get linked and banned ty fast..
If the account is Outside your country you need to to buy ip burger residential or fresh ip adres and use it this way.
Open multiple users on your pc and your good to go..
You can read the stealth book of your totally new it contains lot of useful information.

Your account have been flagged for something else entirely.

If its a limitation/suspension on a brand new account then its likely you were flagged

Unless you mean that it required MP immediately

With the ever changing ebay game, it's important to be concise with what you have to say.

Asked for the full social.

It was a sales limitation on a brand new account that was placed after I tried to list my first item. After calling support to get that lifted is when I was then asked for identity verification and my full social. After reading some posts on here it seems I am not the first to have had this happen. I am not sure what “mp” means.. however I called support after inputting my social and getting the message “your account could not be verified” (assuming this account was banned at this point) but the rep removed whatever this restriction was and I am now able to list.

It didn’t seem right at all but it is what happened. I made the account with a brand new ip using VPN unlimited and everything else new. It was banned initially when I first created it and I called to get that lifted. I waited a few months before trying to list, then it was restricted from selling on my first attempt so I called and got that lifted. After this is when I was hit with the identity verification where it asked for my full social which I inputted. It then tells me “identity could not be verified” (likely because I gave my real social with a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and address). I called support twice after this, the first rep told me this account could only be used to buy stuff and didn’t give an explanation. I decided to call twice and the second rep removed this restriction. Still confused and if this is a normal eBay practice now I don’t see how we can still make stealth accounts.

I am not sure what more to add. I posted the events as they happened.

Did you use a dedicated VPN or the Residential IP to create the account?

Because you need the residential IP nowadays.

I used one called VPN unlimited. I think it is probably a dedicated VPN, is this the root of my issues? Because the prompt for my identity authentication and asking for my social # seems to have been an automated one (which is why I’m concerned). All my initial restrictions/bans were removed by staff after a quick phone call until I was hit by this identity verify. After this it was almost an indefinite ban not even sure how or why the second rep removed it. I’m happy they did of course but am not comfortable relying on this in future.

FYI I’ve made a number of accounts in the past and this has never happened before. I’ve seen identity verify before and usually it’s just a phone number confirmation never social.
