need help lads

Hi, so my VAT restriction is here, and i do not want o add a VAT number on this certain stealth account. I also cannot list or edit listings until i have added one.

Can i add a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ VAT for now so i can list a few more things?

Also, if i add a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ VAT number, would i be charged the extra VAT fee with sales?

Re: need help lads

I’m nearly at VAT now £81,000 sales in 12 months but I’ve been talking to eBay reps today and they said to me if I go over £85,000 then I will need to register for VAT regardless if it’s in 12 months or not it’s not from start to date as I thought it was on a rolling period.

I think I will have to register for VAT as I want to continue on selling problem is I haven't paid no tax in the first year as I’ve been working in my day job :/

No you have to enter an authentic VAT number that is correctly registered to your eBay name or business as eBay checks the number you put in against the vat-number-check that checks all VAT numbers in UK and EU.
No your responsibility to send in VAT payment to HMRC but as when you register they take your details etc little getting out of it once registered - my view is that the flat rate works best for eBay sellers but depends on your business.

You only pay VAT as from when you register not in retrospect.

Should you pursue phaKe numbers, you will have more than VAT restrictions. Be found out and have no chance to list a few more things.

I understand you pay 20% VAT on any item sold on eBay. So do eBay collect that 20% VAT fee off after every sale and then do I pay VAT to HMRC every 3 months?

Because I’m working in my day job which I earn around £23,000 a year I take it I won’t be entitled to £12500 tax free allowance as I get that from my job so I assume I will have to pay 20% tax on my profit made each year is this correct. I’m all new to this.
