If anything in the category I was doing searches, 8/10 sellers charge shipping.
I don't believe eBay has changed the algo that when you offer free shipping you get better placement in the search.
| I noticed it also. I have been experimenting with it and surprised myself. I listed the same item on two different accounts. One with free shipping and one where I charged for shipping. One account has the item at $39.99 including free shipping and the other has the item at $34.99 + $8.85 shipping. Through 3 weeks and a day, the results:
Free shipping... Sold 13
Charged shipping... Sold 6
6 people actually paid more for the identical item (33% of sales). It used to be that you could kill sales on an item by increasing it by pennies. Consumers aren't as savvy as they once we're or they are terrible at math. Hope it lasts! |
