VAT in Germany

I have UK registered account and I sell now in Germany because I am based there, the buyer will pay 20% more of final price because of VAT. Any explanation please?

If your business is established in UK, but you ship your goods from Germany, you must be VAT registered in Gernamy. This rule also applies to any other EU country where you store your inventory.

Another thing to mention with selling now option there is no VAT to add, with auction the VAT is added, how it is please?
