Selling Gift cards on ebay how do I stay safe?

Hi

So I have a a bunch of visa prepaid gift cards that I wanted to sell on ebay.

I'm wondering though if I sell these on ebay what's to stop a buyer from just using the card, then filing a return saying there was nothing on there to begin with.

Is there a safe way to sell these cards or no?
I don't want any buyer fraud going on.

I disagree. when we had paypal as an option for sellers. I would sell gift cards and actually ship them out with tracking numbers. things went well and was never scammed.

there are actual good buyers out there not everyone is a scam artist. I'd have more problems with paypal limiting my accounts than problems from buyers even

though I would sometimes get buyers who wanted me to scratch the card and give them the numbers (via ebay message) I would insist that they wait until the cards arrived.

sorry for the long explanation

So I know the tracking would protect us for do not receive cases as is always the case. But what about scammers who use the card afterwards than report to ebay that the card had no balance on it, therefore initiating a return where you have to refund them since now they're tracking will prove they gave it back? Basically ebay will auto initialize a return, where they just return a used gc back to us and say it was given to them like that.

That's my concern about selling the 20 big balance gcs I have now.

A lot of 'what ifs', either sell them and see what happens or don't.

You've seen pepsiclowns reply so it's now up to you.

You could always use the cards yourself to buy goods which can be sold for a profit. :)

All the best with your decision OP- not a lot of seller protection with these card sales

20 big $$ prepaid cards,is there another way ?
sell one at a time,if you have 20,buyers may think it is fraud or you are just inviting scammers

THEN you should not sell them on Ebay or anywhere, just use it to buy things for yourself,or for resale

Youre basically selling money.
I see no point in doing so when you can simply use that money yourself and avoid both the risk factor involved for your ebay acct and the possibility of a chargeback.
Dont risk it.
