Two MP Seller Accounts on the same computer OK?

If David and Marlene Smith each have their own Ebay accounts selling two different items but share an iMac that's on all day (for other stuff) will that in itself cause a flag...?

They would be sharing an IP connection, not hiding that....

David sells piano parts on Google Chrome and Marlene sells knitted sweaters on Firefox... no paypal involved, and few (if any) disputes or returns.

Does anyone think that two people sharing a computer, IP, and mailing address and phone number would IN ITSELF cause an issue...? I get it if one account goes down they both do, but as long as everything is in great standing, they should be fine, right?

The only version of this question I could find goes back to 2013, so I'm hoping for a more updated assessment. Thank you!

No, why would it?

Using the same computer is one thing. It can be done safely by using separate user accounts.
Using the same IP - that would get your accounts linked hard and if one goes down they both go down.

How Can we do this?

If, as you suggest in your post, you do everything by the book and never attract any kind of unwanted attention, then you can happily run many accounts from the same PC, using the same IP and the same postal addresses. :thumb:

IP isnt a strong link. IPs are recycled. Lots of people have the same IP (office buildings, college campuses, etc)

no one knows the answer, even ebay doesn't know the answer.

few years ago I made a second selling account and ebay allows you to "link" it to a previous selling account (shows you know how to sell) so they give you a high limit on the new account.

One month later they banned the second account and told me to sell on one acccount only. I asked why and they said you are circumventing your selling limits.

account 1: 500 items/$50,000 limit. 100 items listed and $5000 total.
Account 2: 200 items/$25,000 limit. 10 items listed and about $500.

told them its not circumventing because I had room on my 1st account to list the items on account #2. Told them I followed the linking process on your website and you guys gave me the limits on the second account.

They didn't care.

They didn't care.

Hence the need for aiming for separate non-linked accounts :(

Even ebay support interprets its own rules differently. I have addressed one support question with a short interval. What would different people answer. And the answers were very different))) No one will tell you the exact answer. But it is better to follow the security rules and not use one IP.
