eBay account on -£999

I sold an item and was given the payout, then the buyer claimed he didn't receive it and had it refunded and my eBay account payout is saying "-£999", I talked to customer support about it and they checked the case again and closed it against me. I want to sell on eBay but I don't want to pay off this £999. So I changed my name, address to random details, changed my payout method to an online banking account and removed all the money. eBay are now also requesting me to provide documents of my new name and address, so I assume my old information isn't linked to the account anymore. Can I have this account suspended or closed by talking to customer support and saying something like me being underage and avoid paying the fees? And then can I open another account using the same information as before?

Of course its linked.
Ebay keeps every shred of data you ever provide them.
And no you cannot just avoid paying that money to ebay. If you used your real details originally you can bet that when it ends up going to their collections department they will do a manual review of the acct and know exactly what you were trying to pull there. Then if/when it is sent to a collection agency they will know who to contact for that amount - and from my experience that amount is large enough for them to come after you for.

Ebay usually don't support buyer claimed not received, you didn't handle it right, or your tracking number is not shown delivered. I usually won at such cases.

this depends on how much you want to sell on ebay under your real name , ebay won't be able to collect the money from you but in this case you will be indefinitely suspended

changing the owner of an MP account is not recommended as ownership can not be transferred according to ebay

hard to imagine anyone who sold an item for that kind of money does not use tracking and signature confirmation.

It's very likely they will go after you because they've gone after people owing a lot less by passing their details on to debt collectors.

It's startling how little understanding you have of all of this, OP. They aren't going to let you just close your account, open a new one, and write off the 1k as a "whoopsie."

You really should have fought that case if you didn't defraud your buyer.

You're flying the US flag but have a debt in Sterling. Are you in the US or the UK?
