please tell me im drunk, i didnt refund a buyer on time and the buyer had to qoute "ask ebay to step in" and so ebay refunds them and still charges me the final value fee. She said since ebay refunded them you still have to pay the fee. is this some sick joke?

ok then im being charged a final value fee because i did not refund fast enough?

I would hope you aren't drunk this early in the day. I've been sober at least 8 hours now, haha.

Their platform their rules. Paypal stopped refunding the fee they charged a while ago so eBay's doing this is par for the course. Anyway put good money before bad money and get over it. :noidea:

SOunds like they are taking the same approach as PP where they don't refund the fees associated with the sales.

Lol, online selling isn't for everyone. You need a lot of patience.

Even when buyers are in the wrong and they absolutely wind me up, I lick their boots as long as their money continues to come in to my bank account. I'm addicted to accumulating ££££

Final Value Fee. Not processing fee LOL. They have ALWAYS refunded my final value fee. Even when i personally refund them. But now they are making it sound as if since THEY had to refund them THEY will keep the final value fee. I'm sure they were hung over i contacted them at 8am probably still had their head in their a$$ well they always do imo. LOL cvnts.

I havnt heard of them things this way for awhile but wouldnt surprise me if they do.
As OP said though its ludicrous and borders on outright thievery. Wouldnt be surprised if theres a class action brought against ebay for this particular issue - would be a very easy one to win.

Dude just call them and ask to have it refunded. If you are actually a successful seller they won't have any issues with doing this. Word of advice, don't be an a$$ when you call if you want it refunded.

Your attitude stinks ... that's why you got in to this position in the first place.

Ebay expect you to resolve cases without them getting involved. They got involved so you paid their penalties.

They done this to me last year before the deadline to refund. Buyer got eBay to step in somehow a few days early and they refunded the buyer within minutes and not refunded the final value fee. When I appealed they told me they keep the fee because if they step in becuase it costs them to intervene and force refunds... Thought that was a lot of BS so I kept complaining and eventually they refunded the fee.

PAypal keeps its fee because it has already paid the gateway,but Ebay?
Ebay must figure it has done its job,giving you a place to sell so it keeps its fee?
Ebay gives you 3 days to refund your buyer after tracking shows delivered,has it changed?

no but it shouldnt matter, wether it be me or ebay who refunds i should always get back the fee. as if they gonna keep over 10% for what? LOL

It's no different than getting a parking ticket or incurring tax penalties for filing late.

The rules were written out for you but you couldnt be bothered to solve your buyers problem... Sellers like you make buyers leave the platform and go to Amazon and Etsy.

Yeah I have to and I realized every time I do it ruins my night. Thats why I try to prevent calling in because if you are talking to foreign agents its useless unless you are trying to manipulate them to do something in your favor.
