eBay Accounts, Fees & Payments......

Here is a new point of information for the masses.....
This is referring to newer accounts on eBay less than 1 year.

Did you know that once your eBay bill crosses the $200.00 due mark you will be stopped from listing.
I ran into this tonight.
I have my PP linked to my eBay but NOT set up to do auto payments.
I refuse to pay my eBay fees through Paypal (A entirely different topic)
I do NOT have a credit card on file with eBay for auto payments of my fees.
So when my bill crossed the $200.00 mark tonight I was not allowed to list any more items on my account.
eBay is telling me that I have to make a payment or add a credit card to my account for auto pay.
So I will knock it down a bit tomorrow when I get a few gift2go pre-paid cards.

So for those of you who do not pay your eBay fees the magic amount is $200.00

I did not realize this. I do have a credit card on file with ebay though so mine get automatically charged to that card. Thanks for the information!

i have an account with no auto payments and once it gets past £15 it wont let me list?

I used to get that message all the the time on my main account but for some reason it didn't apply to my sub account. So what I did with the main one was kept paying it down with my paypal like $20 at a time just to get it below the $200 mark so I post some listings until finally they said I reached my limit for making payments, when that happened I'd just switch to my sub account which I think had a limit of $300.

I make payments on the 1st Friday and 3rd Friday - that way the fees don't get too big for me to pay. I lost a real good account this past summer because the fees got out of hand. And have been having problems with accounts ever since - except for my 2 main accounts. It also helps to know where I stand as far as profit this way too.

For UK users I believe the amount is £250. However if you have a valid credit card on file you should still be ok to list.

If you dont have a valid credit card on file, when you try to relist you get the main log in screen with a message that says "you have exceeded your account limit, please add a credit card or make a payment"

Add a credit card / or make a payment and you can list again.

Yup, I mentioned this awhile back in one of the Paypal threads.

The limit is IMMEDIATELY removed when you change the settings in eBay account to autopay with PayPal.

1) Turn on automatic payment with PayPal
2) List everything you want free of limits
3) Turn off automatic payment when you're finished listing
4) ????
5) Profit

^^^^^^^^^^
I will NEVER allow eBay to have unrestricted withdraws from my Paypal account.
EVER.

This is a bad thing.

I guess you gotta decide if the benefits of being able to list a bunch of items without the listing limits outweighs the risk of TEMPORARILY okaying automatic PayPal payments. :)

They've somewhat changed their practice with this also. They let know ahead of time before they even submit the ACH withdrawal. They only downside I see to having eBay deduct from paypal is that your bank account is tied to paypal, so if you have money in that account (which is always a bad idea) you might lose it if you had the intention of not paying. I've read the posts on using a different payment method other than paypal to pay fees, but if you accept payments with paypal, it seems like a lot of extra work and money to possibly avoid a simple overdraft fee.

If you do regular "Sweeps" of your Paypal account I do not see the harm in Linking, once you are Suspended You Sweep out the Paypal account and the underling Bank Account all within 2 days, I have never had ebay try to collect fees until I have had at least an Appeal Heard of the suspension which is for me Always more than 2 days, is this not the way it normally goes or Have I been Lucky?
