Ebay MP balance withheld can I get it back?
 

My managed payments stealth ebay account has been suspended and they are withholding all the sales money in the account.

Is there any way to get it released?

The reason was prohibited item policy - prohibited items are not allowed

I was selling completely legitimate digital items but I was offering digital delivery when only physical delivery is permitted.

IMO you will not get it back. They'll use the tried and tested model adopted by Amazon...'restricted product which probably infringes someone elses rights, we'll keep it'.

I guess the proceeds of crime should be handed over to the authorities, but there's no record of Amazon ever doing it. They simply sit on it and wait for seller to say 'see you in court' which, in the case of stealth accounts selling dodgy wares, never happens.

You won’t get your account back that’s for sure eBay are not to keen on digital items.

If your account is ligit with real info then I would pester them for the funds absolutely no reason why they shouldn’t pay your funds although this may take 60 days and on the other hand if it’s stealth then forget it you’ll not be getting your funds back.

why would government get the money and how is it even related.

There is no clear information about it. If you rise a complain with ebay they will tell you they will not release it, however i got all my money released so far. most of the time after 2 month, sometimes longer.

If they do not release it you can rise a formal complain with ebay and if you will not get any answer or a non statisfing one you can complain to the regulator, which is cssf in luxembourg or FCA in UK (since 01.10.2021).

But i recomend to wait at least for 3 month befor doing anything

A stealth account selling prohibited items, which I suspect infringe someones IP rights.

No it didn't infringe IP :P Thanks for wishing me good luck. I wanted to take the time to update everyone here.

I got the withheld money automatically after about 2 months. I was surprised to get an email popup telling me I had been paid.

Looks like ebay has more morals than Amazon as they seem to eventually pay out any money owed after their fees are deducted.

I didn't wish you good luck, I was replying to burbur who suggested complaining the the CSSF in Luxembourg.

Anyway, all's well that ends well. Nice to hear that ebay are releasing monies on suspended stealth accounts selling prohibited digital downloads. :thumb:
