eBay item Location Policy — Changing Addresses?
 

My personal eBay account was banned several years back

I've already aged (1.5+years) a brand new ebay account using a family members brand new info. Sold about 5 items to start a transaction history.

Everything was created properly (I have amazn ghost) and I registered the account using my family members residential address.

I live at a new address in Nevada with a clean IP, she lives in Idaho.

This is problematic because ebay item location zip code policy BS

My question — am I able to switch the registered address+all other addresses to the Nevada address? I'd use her name on the address obviously and it'd be as if she moved states and just updated the address.

This way I can satisfy the zip code requirement and my IP would match location

My second question —Would this trigger any suspicion or cause my account to get flagged or suspended?

Just make sure on your item location you put the correct zip code from the post office and you’re good. Make sure your address is updated for the returns though Incase a customer want to return.

Agree with Roy3805 here - return address is key in case of auto-return

Roy is right.. there's no need to update the registration address on your account. Make sure the item location zip code in your listings is correct (this part isn't all that important - I have 5 year old listings which have an "item location" zip code 3000 miles away from me), then add your address in return preferences.

Ok thanks guys – I'll make sure the item location zip is correct +update the return address. But what about the Ship From address?
I'm assuming that should also reflect the NV address as my items are shipping from there?


This is what I currently have..

Registration address: ID
Shipping address: ID
Ship From address: ID
Return address: *left blank*


And instead it should be...?

Registration address: ID
Shipping address: ID
Ship From address: NV
Return address: NV

Yea ship from and return should be updated. Just don’t touch the registration address. That’s where you raise red flags

My ship from address is wrong on all my accounts. I don't use eBay for shipping so it doesn't matter.

i am from ca. i have accts (stealth) registered in ny, i ship from ca, i use ebay to ship.if customer asks what took so long i say i just moved and forgot to update my address thanks for reminding me

You can update if it you want but it doesn't really matter where the items are being posted from. I have not know it to cause issues

So I'm a little confused. Does the item location need to be shipped from the same city? I have most of my item locations listed in the same state but not the same city.
