Is anyone else receiving 20% less for each sale today? I've just been on with eBay for the past hour and they couldn't explain why (they eventually just hung up). I haven't signed up for any discount promotions etc. Absolute joke, I've been working today to just break even and eBay can't even tell me WTF is happening.
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

Did they enroll you in promoted listings? That would include an additional charge in fees. Etsy does something similar and it's an additional 15% when item sells.

Huh? Are you sure you didn't unintentionally enroll in their promo program?
Thanks for the replies guys. Just checked and I had a multi-buy campaign for all my items that has just ended today - it was running for 3 years. Not sure why that has resulted in the 20% discount (max discount was 7% for the campaign) but I have enabled the campaign again in the hope that this will fix the issue.

Glad you sorted it out. Funny how ebay couldn't explain it to you.
It is a bit shocking to discover. I had same reaction w/Etsy, they automatically enroll you in promoted listings when opening new account.

Yes, three years. I set it up myself and forgot that it was going to end. I'm still having the same issue after re-enabling it, only worse - all my domestic orders are discounted by 20% and then the buyer also receives the multi-buy discount - an absolute disaster. I'm on hold with eBay at the moment, they don't seem to know what's going on. With overnight sales, it's now happening across all four of my eBay shops.
That's rough to see OP - what category of sales are you dealing with?
Home, Furniture & DIY - just been on with eBay again and they have now advised that they have received many calls about the issue and are trying to resolve it -no indication of how long it will take. Apparently, they have known about it for several days but it only started happening to my accounts yesterday.
Just a quick update - the issue is affecting all Northern Irish sellers for sales to mainland UK (which would be the biggest market for us). Someone in eBay has pushed out a software update and seems to have forgotten that Northern Ireland is still part of the UK.

I don't think since NI still class under eu and ebay is right it should be 20% less same as if someone from Ireland buy from UK they don't pay VAT.
Check your listing if you put 20% VAT then its right and no error from ebay but if its 0 then something is not right
Check one if your listing I believe you do mentioned 20% in vat box

thanks for the info - I wonder how many other ppl are getting screwed like this
Don't think its a glitch NI is still part of eu and class as 0% vat where they should be 20% vat before they get their item, same rules should apply as eu
Watch ebay will tell something after few days if they still not notified
Reason amazon doing this since brexit
