LUCID ID Required

Listings made on .com, Bulgarian account created on .fr. Must have a LUCID ID before July 1st. Anyone familiar with this ? Email received:

When you sell products on eBay to buyers in Germany, your listings must meet certain requirements under the German Packaging Act (VerpackG) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations. These regulations aim to protect the environment by improving waste management, limiting the use of landfills and promoting innovation in recycling. In order to comply with German packaging law, you are required to license your packaging from a dual system and register it with the central German packaging register LUCID when selling products to buyers located in Germany.

Aaaah, they just want to track us. Just don't sell in Germany.

Amazon are doing the same, you will need to apply for a LUCID number and submit it.

For some, like me, it simply isn't worth it so my listings in Germany have been deactivated by them.

It's going to get interesting, France are following and we can expect many other EU nations to do the same.

Thank you.

Etsy too, reading their forums.

Have you tryied to register ? They ask for VAT/Tax number and I doubt that stealth will be possible. Will test asap.

I haven't. I gave it cursory read and decided it wasn't for me.

It's certainly another unwanted obstacle for stealthers that's for sure.

My Amazon UK account has had it's .de offerings deactivated, I don't ship to the EU on ebay.co.uk.

To get a valid LUCID number will almost certainly require legitimate and verifiable details.

If you do get on legitimately can you then share it across several stealth accounts....I don't know, but if we stick to the principles of 'never share any data' then it wouldn't be a route I'd be taking.
