EIN Question

Hi folks
I have just converted my account to business and tried to add my EIN. But ebay only wants SSN/ITIN and if I put EIN in it won't pass the verification. What am I doing wrong? is it because of the business type? I chose sole proprietor?
Any input is greatly appreciated!

Upon some searching in order to enter EIN I can not choose sole proprietorship? or is there any work around to form a LLC in my state would cost a fortune(NY). Thanks folks.

Dont use NY.

You will still have to give an SS number even on a corporate EIN.

Yes I am aware of that so in order to use the EIN I absolutely need to form a LLC? Sole proprietorship wont do it right?

Yes on what sole prop will not ask you for ein

If you get llc ein
You can choose single member llc
But you still need ssn dob on stakeholder
