I tried recently virtual machines/virtual box but they're very slow and complicated. Is any of you using them and is happy? Are there other methods?
Cheers |

As far as I'm aware, eBay works great on user accounts and it is much easier than managing virtual machines.
We use VMs for everything from eBay to our own independent online shops, SEO, marketing, etc - and we do this for various reasons.
eBay on VM because we don't want to get caught out and lose a bunch of accounts should eBay decide to go the way of Amazon. Another reason is each eBay account sits on its own OS but stands independent of the other eBay accounts. If anything goes wrong with one OS, we won't have to be taken hostage on all other accounts. Imagine having a backlog of 100s of items that won't be dispatched before the deadline or the hit your metrics could take across all accounts.
There are many other benefits to VMs, for example, if you use ZFS on mirrored drives, you can basically just forget about file corruption or losing data.
You can also manage IP addresses better as you can have multiple streams of internet connection assigned to one or more VMs.
You can have all possible combinations of OSs and their various versions on spoofed hardware so it's going to be really difficult for online services to tell if you have multiple accounts with them.
However, user accounts will suffice if you're going to run a handful of accounts. |

I tried virtual machines they take up tons of storage and takes awhile to set up. Only useful for around 10 accounts max unless you have data and time to burn and want to be extra careful with unique fingerprints
Portable browsers is very convenient but it’s very easy to cause a link if you are using mobile hotspot, you can easily forget to change ip and check on another eBay account. It works good with proxies though
Now im using windows users accounts with around 150 accounts. I have developed a habit to turn off my hotspot and turn it back on when signing out and in of user accounts. |

Cheers | For me yes. Been doing that for over a decade. It's fast and simple. |

My system set up is like yours and I keep on getting suspended all the time.
I’ve lost 8 accounts in 1/2 weeks.
I’ve created new user account, friends real name, date of birth, address, new phone number, new savings account, new gmail, mobile hotspot for each account turning it on and off switching between accounts.
Waiting 7 to 14 days before listing browsing and watching items. Sometimes passing reactive message sometimes failing hit and miss but ultimately accounts getting suspended.
Listing low risk item (only 1 item) starting bid 99p used jeans no brands in photos, description, title. I even use new phone for photos never been used before and still accounts getting suspended. Can’t think of a solution why this happening with every account I create. |

This is a Type 2 hypervisor. These usually require a lot of processing power, ram, etc to get any usefulness out of it.
You don't need all round hi-tech hardware to implement really fast VM if you use a Type 1 hypervisor.
A Type 1 Hypervisor on a dirty cheap HP XW series (released 15 years ago) with ample ram, 1000 Mbps Ethernet cards and an array of old spinning disks can concurrently boot 15 windows 10 instances under 17 seconds. |

Change the product and list around $5-10 . Try that... |

Pandora's_box provided the best answer tho. Didn't think of type 1 hypervisors. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:20 AM. | |
