Should we prepare more stealth accounts as things may change in the future?
 

Hi everyone,

I recently watched a video on YouTube about stealth accounts yes it’s harder to create stealth accounts now but still possible and very easy once you know how.

The video stated that one day in the future when creating eBay accounts you will have to call or do a video call and show ID next to you on the call to prove it’s you who’s creating the account.

I notice Amazon do this or did do this and it already looks like eBay are following Amazon’s footsteps in terms of sponsored listings and in terms of controlling the payments through managed payments.

So is it time to now have as many back up accounts as possible if this does happen in the future?

No point since even if you do at one point in future you have to go through new verification, I have amazon accounts where they never asked for ID this was I think 2011… and later down the line they did ask for verification and amazon do ask for verification after couple of year anyway

So you don’t think one day in the future an eBay rep will video call you when you register an eBay account and ask to see passport or drivers license next to you?

I remember creating an Amazon seller account and I got a call at a certain time to be on a video with an Amazon rep but the video didn’t work on my phone he said unfortunately because the video didn’t work we can not open a seller account for you. Is this the process to creating Amazon seller accounts? I’m not interested in Amazon but feel like eBay are going down that path.
