ebay sold debt

Okay, I previously posted that ebay suspended my account for the reasons they couldn't share with me.

I had 5 people log an INR whilst I spoke to ebay and gave them the DHL tracking that item was delivered and received by the buyers. Item in question is worth £150 each.

Ebay refunded all 5 x buyers even with me providing them the tracking.
They suspended my account before this and wouldn't listen to me, spent ages on phone.

I stopped all payments as obviously I was out of pocket.

I also went ahead (6 months ago or so) where I removed all our details including address and names from ebay account.

Today, I have received an email from a company called DRS saying that they are acting on behalf of ebay and I owe them £1300.

The email referred to the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name on ebay account.

I am very pissed off for the fact that they have a cheek to ask me for money when they owed me money.

Also, the ebay account we had was a business acc and was legit but obviously because it got changed, they haven't got the right details.

With it being the first contact, I understand if they want the payment they will try their utmost best to get in touch and may apply for a CCJ (if it goes to that stage).

How do I proceed on this ?

thanks

Probably not the best advice for me to give to you but my main eBay account got suspended last year with around £1.8k balance owing eBay. It’s from DRS as well I’ve had emails sent but no letters I’ve just ignored it and not replied back.

The emails I’m getting now is a payment plan to pay where as before they just wanted full amount but again I’m just ignoring it.

I don’t have the best credit score or report and have ignored letters owing to companies and after 6 years I think it is it does get wiped off.

I was able to open high street bank accounts a few months ago as most of my debt was wiped off.

It’s up to you you call them and pay it or pay monthly or do what I’m doing and just ignore it.

you simply ignore them. it is unlikely legal action would be taken. in case of any legal action you can always claim you do not have an ebay account and do not know anything about this. it is a fact that anyone could have opened the account in your name unless you admit it is your account (which they probably want from you)

It’s like I’ve always said if they really wanted your money you owe them they would come knocking or send court date letters if you don’t get these two then ignore it it’s always worked for me.

thanks, I am fuming for the fact that they have a cheek to do that.
anyway, I will keep myself composed and if / when anything happens, I will handle accordingly.

I have started selling same stuff on Amazon and finding it a lot better.
the stuff I sold on ebay was legit but the buyers are scumbags tbh.
