Selling on the German eBay and account limitations
 

Hello ! I need help with a matter that occured recently. I have been selling on the German eBay for 2+ years with a private account type. After reaching a certain number of sales they basically forced me to upgrade to business to continue selling there. I upgraded to business and eBay made me sign an agreement that after/if reaching 10 000 EU in sales for 1 calendar year i will have to provide a German TAX ID so i can start paying tax most likely but obviously i am not a german and i dont live in Germany so i dont have that and not planning on obtaining. My question is what would happen if i reach the 10 000 EU in sales, they require me to provide that ID and i dont do it ? Will they close my entire account or just prevent me from selling in Germany like the first time they wanted me to upgrade from private to business ? Its an ugrent situation because i am getting close to 10 000 and really need your help. Thank you !

Likely prevent sales - hope your products aren't violating rules, otherwise possible risk of funds being kept

Once you hit 10K sales on the account you will be expected to provide VAT details.

If you do not then the account will be suspended. Where you live, where the sales are made to/from is immaterial, they will suspend the account.
