| | | likefrasers | 10-27-2022 03:07 AM | ebay requires ID to pass verification I have a 8 years old business ebay account running smoothly well, nothing new changes, actually nothing changes at all in the past 3 years since it's moved to managed payment system. All of the sudden today received a message says:
Let's get you back on track.
To pass verification, you'll need one of these documents for the primary contact on your account.
Driver License
Passport
Government issued ID card
You will need this info to meet eBay's regulatory requirements for selling.
Please upload your document by Jan 23, 2023 to release your held payouts.
I don't see any hold payment/payouts in my account, but there's this red banner on top of each page asking for the ID.
Not sure what happened here, is someone else also have the same issue? |

Re: ebay requires ID to pass verification It's the new norm, we have no choice but to provide the info they've asked for.
If you don't or it fails scrutiny then they'll keep any pending payouts too. |

| murdered_by_ebay | 10-27-2022 06:58 AM | Re: ebay requires ID to pass verification just change account to your real details and upload your ID. if you upload stealth you may get an email you have passed but account will be suspended later or it may be suspended immediately |
| THIS IS UTTER NONSENSE | 11-02-2022 02:18 PM | Re: ebay requires ID to pass verification You know what yeah, this isn’t even funny. I’ve only just made this account and don’t know how any of this works. This is actually meant to be a new post however, I don’t even know how to do that and this thread is the most relevant situation to the circumstances. This is an attempt to keep this as concise as possible.
Made a new account. Separate name. Separate address. Separate dob. Separate number. Bank details match the name. Changed the name by deed poll and gave the bank that name. Changed the address on bank account. Yes, you did read that right. Sold an item. Bought the item on another account with separate details. Micro deposits thing done. Sent ID alternative was used to alter DL. Name matches. Address matches. Everything matches. They go send some nonsense that “I never sent anything.” Callback requested. If you “chat” to them online. Instant suspension. After they’re done with there nonsense they say “something flagged on the account” and “the document is not clear.” It is clear. Can’t afford for it not to be clear. “A link will be sent within the next few days to reupload the document.”
Look, the name on this account that I made about an hour ago is what it is for a reason. |
| SaiJin | 11-02-2022 02:40 PM | Re: ebay requires ID to pass verification So you bought using a 2nd account from your own seller account? |
| murdered_by_ebay | 11-02-2022 04:04 PM | Re: ebay requires ID to pass verification you wrote about altered ID so ID was stealth? |

| THIS IS UTTER NONSENSE | 11-04-2022 04:23 AM | Re: ebay requires ID to pass verification The ID was edited in a programme alternative to photoshop to match the details. The name has only been changed at the bank and there’s no one by that name at that address. A buyer’s account was made separately to buy an item from the seller account as it’s always after the first payment when problems arise and they start asking for stuff like ID |

This is mind-boggling! |

They can’t be verified other than checking bank information as the name matches. No one with that name is at that address. Can’t use my actual address as it will be suspended |
| murdered_by_ebay | 11-08-2022 07:18 AM | Re: ebay requires ID to pass verification if the name matches bank then you need to use all details on file with bank
ebay do a credit check so name+DOB+address must match credit history
it is all three , not just the name or name with DOB
it is the american colleagues who can state stealth addresses on ebay and come through because ebay check their SSN but in the UK the residence is always checked so that using addresses not tied to the person through credit history means suspension even if real ID is sent in |
