| | | Mr UK | 02-04-2023 05:22 AM | Ebay negative feedback still affecting metrics? Hello ,
I believe that Ebay negative feedback still affects your metrics, does anyone else think this and can elaborate more?
I recently had my first 1 negative feedback, that reduced
My score to 99.7%. As a result it has KILLED my sales. I was making 5-7 sales a day, now I've made 2 sales in the last 3 days.
I know that it says on ebay now that negative feedback doesn't affect your metrics anymore, but I don't believe this to be the case. How can 1 negative feedback put off customers from my store that much?!
FYI the buyer was in the wrong and a d*ck and left a swear word on the feedback. I requested ebay to remove it but they just removed his comment not the whole negative feedback.
I think negative feedback is still affecting ebay metrics someone but they're just not telling us how
Can anyone share their thoughts/ experiences?
Thanks |
Re: Ebay negative feedback still affecting metrics? have you checked if there is competition that has been taking sales away from you? perhaps with better pricing? |

Or you are running out of buyers who need those items, besides consumer spending is weak, food and rent and gas take up a big chunk of paycheck and there is a white collar layoff going on,many are in IT and internet savvy.
also Ebay rotates sellers,so everyone has a shot of getting some sales |

The reduction in sales was straight after I got the negative feedback, which is why I'm wondering if there is a correlation, and if ebay is still sabotaging our metrics when you get a negative feedback but just not telling us.
A guy on YouTube made a video woth a theory that if you gdt a mew negative feedback, the algorithm reduces your sales for a period of time after, such as 48 hours. (Unless you get it removed such as with revision request). My sales have started to recover now so I'm wondering if getting a new negative feedback causes a temporary reduction but ebay are not telling us the algorithm does this
What do you think? |

also Ebay rotates sellers,so everyone has a shot of getting some sales | Definitely valid points, but I thought perhaps there must be a correlation between the new negative feedback and the reduction in sales as the change was instant.

also Ebay rotates sellers,so everyone has a shot of getting some sales | Also how exactly does ebay rotate sellers?
Is it by boosting new listings temporarily etc? |
Re: Ebay negative feedback still affecting metrics? Ebay definitely gives new listings a visibility boost, that been common knowledge for some time and something ebay have confirmed.
With regards to rotating sellers so everyone makes some sales then I'm not so sure on that. I pay to be a top rated seller and advertise/promote my listings so I'm always near the top of the first page, don't think I've ever seen a 'basic' listing on the first page merely to be kind to those who wont promote their listings. It's pretty much the same model as Amazon have offered for many years - pay us money, you'll get priority. |
| agent006140 | 02-05-2023 07:22 AM | Re: Ebay negative feedback still affecting metrics? An Ebay seller called Ebay and complained why no sales and the staff slipped and said Be patient, your term will come,
Some sellers notice they dont have sales and then they have 4-5 orders per day for a few days and then it is back to slow or no sales,
There are just too many sellers and not enough buyers, eco 101 | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:43 AM. | |
