Will link your SSN to restricted accounts?
 

Does ebay link the SSN of to accounts to those of restricted/banned accounts if it is the same SSN? If so, how does anyone create stealth accounts or get around this? In my opinion the biggest barrier for new accounts is SSN. Unless of course they only use it for identity purposes, and don't care if it is already on a previously banned account. This is a HUGE if however.

If they indeed to link the SSN, you would need to use a whole new SSN. If this is what is required, there will obviously be huge obstacles in this.

Been this was for a couple years now. Go the business route with an EIN number and your still need owners last 4 of SS and date of birth.

I don't think many of us using this technique loose many accounts, so it is really hard to say if using the same SS number is a problem. I can say that for us, it hasn't been on ebay the past few years or etsy the past five years. But we don't loose accounts often.

In early days,Ebay does not ask for your SSN,as Paypal takes care of that.
but it sounds like your restrcted account has your SSN,so if you reuse it,Ebay will know

So even if your SSN shows on your EIN, ebay will not ban that account? This is good to know. I figure it is still a risk since if ebay ever considered a specific SSN to be flagged, they could ban ever account associated with it. But there is really no other way around this, aside from using another person's SSN.

Yes ebay will know, but will they ban the account outright since the SSN is already tied to a restricted account? If that is the case, then how is anyone able to create stealth accounts at all?

You would need a whole different SSN. Even using an EIN, ebay will still ask for that owner's SSN.

this depends on the business model , proper business with genuine items and low risk can easily use the same SSN and open many accounts , preferrably using corporations which are account owners while the SSN owner is the owner of the corporation

with high risk business selling counterfeits or any kind of unauthorized items and getting constant suspensions or restrictions different SSN's will be needed as ebay are likely to do chain suspensions on such issues once complaints accumulate
